Of the 54 teams in the team competition, the Area 9 teams finished:

>Area 9 – Tetrathlon Team Selections

Now that the final qualifier for the Triathlon Finals has been completed, I have been able to rank the Area 9 qualifiers who are going to Milton Keynes by their score at their qualifying competition.    3 Area 9 teams have been formed from the top 12 ranked qualifiers.

The PC guidance on making up the teams is as follows:

  • Areas may make up to 3 mixed teams from all classes (i.e.: Girls or boys from each class) to compete at the Winter Triathlon Final.  The idea of these teams is to mix the age groups but we do not want to stipulate the mix as this may cause problems in some Areas due to lack of competitors in some classes.

Leaving the qualifiers in rank order would put 3 Minis in the first 4, and both Senior boys in the second 4.

Area 9 Green:

Felicity Townend – MG

William Connors – MB

Arthur Townend – JB

Jack Church – SB

Area 9 Red:

Tom Cox – MB

Cressie May – JG

Harry Trotman – JB

Harry Stevens – SB

Area 9 Blue:

Charles Hall – MB

Tom Connors – JB

Emily Turner – JG

Willa Gibb  – MG

Congratulations to everyone who qualified for the Triathlon Championships, and best of luck next Sunday.

>Tetrathlon Opportunity at Royal Windsor Show

Area 9 has been asked to fill one of the places in 3 person Central England Junior Tetrathlon team to compete in the Regional Tetrathlon Competition at RWHS on Saturday and Sunday 16/17 May.  The other 2 Areas in Central England are providing a girl (Area 12 – Alex Bousfield) and a boy (Area 7 – Alexander Howard), so we are in the happy position to be able to choose either a Junior girl or boy from Area 9.  I am looking for nominations for the Area 9 candidate.

The attached notes have been provided by the Pony Club about the competition and I would be grateful if you would read them before considering your nominations.  Particular points to note are:

The riding phase will be Arena jumping (with a slip rail) and, like the optional parade, will be in a busy, noisy showground.

Competitors must be prepared to loan their horse to a Northern Ireland competitor, if required.

Immaculate turnout and behaviour is required from competitors and horses.

Our entry needs to be returned by 6 April 15, so I would be grateful for any nominations, with a supporting recommendation, by Monday 16th March.
