2015 Pony Club Dressage Championships – Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire -Friday 21st August
Novice Dressage Championships

Dressage Team 1 Dressage Team 2

After a fantastic bbq kindly cooked by John Curtis the night before, lots of wine for the parents to calm their nerves and excited Beaufort children making lots of noise and having fun we all managed to appear from our tents, horseboxes, B&B’s to feed and plait our ponies on the Friday morning, some of us managed to watch the early showjumping teams and give them some support. Two Beaufort Novice dressage teams (I think we were all first timers at the Championships) rode their championship tests in arenas decorated with lots of flowers. We had some outstanding results with the very young team of Isla Green, Milly Harvey, Amelia James and Poppy Richardson coming 2nd as a team and the other team of Char Bailey, Amy Curtis, Alex Harvey and Charlotte Walker coming 4th. There were about 38 teams who had all qualified from all over the UK on some serious pony power, so what a fantastic result! Even more exciting was watching Amelia and Alex in the Ride Off for individual results. It poured with rain during prizegiving, but the biggest cheers came as the Beaufort teams collected their rosettes and the 2nd team had great fun standing on the podium with all of their well deserved prizes. Individual placings for each team section were asfollows:-Amelia (1st) (6th in the ride off)Poppy (3rd)Milly (10th)Isla(17th) Char (22nd)Amy (4th)Alex (2nd) (8th in the ride off)Charlotte(17th). A huge thank you to Vics Bailey for all her calm instruction during the warm up, to all our parents/relations for driving us 3 1/2 hours up to Cheshire, Lucinda Rose for watching us all, Rhian, Lesley and for all the other team members staying to cheer us all on at Prize giving and finally to Janet for all of her hard work and organisation. I highly recommend the whole experience, we had such fun and we all supported each other. Thank you to Sarah who has helped me with some dressage lessons. Sorry if I have missed anyone off!!ByCharlotte Walker
