Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt PC Triathlon December 2017

It was an astonishing quantity of 32 Beaufort competitors who set forth to Dean Close School on the Saturday before Christmas. Families were in the middle of Christmas preparations at home so it was all credit to those who stepped up to the plate.
FROGSPAWN BIATHLON

At just five years old, Iyla P was the youngest competitor of the day. Her excellent run score secured her 2nd place individually and 1 team with team mates from the Cotswold & CVFH.

FROGSPAWN TRIATHLON

Hector AL and Charlie W added the swim phase to take part in the Triathlon Class. Unfortunately Charlie’s sister Rose was felled with the flu bug so the boys took on team mates from the Cotswold and SH&RH. Hector finished a creditable 12th and Charlie, who has a couple of years on Hector, 6th. Their team finished 3rd. Charlie moves up to the Tadpole Class for 2018 leaving the way for Hector to clean up!
TADPOLES
We were able to field two team of Tadpoles and the pick of the bunch was Chloe P who took 8th place after a strong performance in all phases. Best Beaufort Shoot was Holly R with 840. Best Beaufort swim Georgia G and Best Beaufort run Joe C. The team of Holly, Joe, Chloe and Laurie were 3rd. The team of Georgia G, Annabelle HJ and Isobel C were just out of the money but Isobel’s performance was notable – 3rd Best of our Beaufort Tadpoles.
MINI GIRLS
Yasmin K, along with Ruby & Evie B made up our Mini girls squad. Well done to Ruby for moving up a level to help us field a team. Evie swam best of the 3 for Individual 6th while Ruby ran fastest and also finished in the top ten. Yasmin posted solid scores in all three phases to help the team take 3rd place. MINI BOYS
Our Mini boys are a force to be reckoned with AND they all have another year left at this level. Monty won Best Swim and with 2nd Best Run he took 3rd individual. Orlo did one better by virtue of his excellent 900 shoot, to take 2nd place. Xavi was 4th and Tom C 6th so their team won with over 850 points in hand.
New recruit Jack R joined forces with boys from the Old Berks and N Cotswold to take team 2nd. He shot particularly well and also won Ind 7th rosette.
JUNIOR GIRLS
Although our Junior Girls are very accomplished, they really had to fight for their win with a strong contingent from the Wheatland/N Warwickshire giving them a run for their money. But our girls were not found wanting as Poppy C took individual honours and Best Run, Finnola S 7th, Bea A 10th and Lucy P 11th. A winning margin of 65 points. Phew!
JUNIOR BOYS
Our team of Will C, Jamie T, George S and Josh B were not willing to be outdone by the girls – they also managed to win their class by a margin of 900 points. Well done to George S for moving up a level to help us complete the team. All four shot really well and their consistency in all phases paid off. Individual places for Will C (1st), George S (3rd), Josh B (4th) and Jamie T (8th).
SENIOR GIRLS
Our team of four, Amy P, Maddy A, Ella HJ and Meg S took 2nd place in the team event. Well done to Meg S for moving up a level to help us complete the team. Amy P shot best of the team (Ind 5th), Meg swam furthest (Ind 6th) and Maddy ran fastest (Ind 4th). Ella gave it her all finishing Ind 7th. Well done to all four girls who are flat out with GCSE work but still came out to represent their club.

SENIOR BOYS
Tom C & Henry S took part in the Senior Boys Class. The two boys were close to each other in all phases but Tom came out marginally ahead in 1st Place with Henry 2nd less than 40 points behind.
