Ledbury Tet May 2017

Ledbury Pony Club host at least two and sometimes three Tetrathlons a year and so Gadbury has become a regular stamping ground for many of us.
This year was no exception with 25 Beaufort entries across the age groups.
On Saturday competitors Shot and Ran at Gadbury, followed by a trip to Tewkesbury for the swim phase. Sunday was devoted to the ride phase, again at Gadbury.

FROGSPAWN The Beaufort team of Holly R, Charles W, Rose W and Arabella P claimed 4th prize. Beanbag shooting was not easy with best in the class in the eight hundreds. Ours were all between 560 and 680. Holly put in a very good run to score 712, just 36 points behind the fastest girl in the class. In the swim phase both Charles and Holly performed well with Charles just ahead on 624 points. The ride phase for this class was in an enclosed arena. 1200 points each from Charles & Rose, near maximum of 1340 for Arabella. A few less for Holly whose speed got the better of her. Individually Holly 8th, Arabella 9th, Rose 15th and Charles 8th boy. Very well done.

TADPOLES
We had 6 competitors in the Tadpole class. Our team of Ruby B, Amelie L, Jemima P and Chloe P were placed 2nd as a team. Individual winner was Ruby who took Best Girls Swim and Run. Jemima ran her very close for second by just 4 points. Amelie was 7th and Chloe 8th. Our individuals Archie L and Zara L joined with two Ludlow members to make a team that finished 5th. Archie was 6th individually and Zara 12th.

MINIS Our Mini team of Evie B, George S, George L and Joseph P took team 6th. Joseph finished 2nd individually and George S 5th. Joseph performed an excellent shoot of 900 and George S was the only one to score maximum 1400 in the ride phase.

JUNIORS We fielded two Beaufort teams who finished 1st and 3rd. The winning team of Bea A, Meg S, Finnola S and Lucy P finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th respectively. Lucy had best shoot of 920. Our second team of Tegan W, Alice E and Josh B also performed very well. Josh won the boys class with best shoot of 860 and best swim 956.

OPEN
We were pleased to have four representatives in the Open Class. They had a very difficult, technical course to contend with and all did extremely well in bringing their horses home safely and with a good experience. Jess and Matt B from the Ledbury produced the only clear rounds in the ride. Our team finished 2nd with individual places as follows: a win for Jess T by several hundred points, Amy P 4th, Maddy A 5th, Ella HJ 6th. Jess also recorded the best Girls Run and Swim.
A somewhat lengthy delay ensued before the prizegiving but the sun was out and everyone had enjoyed the day.
Thank you to the Ledbury for another great competition.
