CHAMPIONSHIP INTERMEDIATE EVENT TEAM – JONTI BARTLETT, LUKE PETCHELL, TIFF BARNARD AND LATTA CHAUHAN – SHARE A JOKE AT THE PRIZE GIVING -

Intermediate Eventing Championships Report ( Thank you to Latta for sending this in)
(Tiffany Barnard, Jonti Bartlett, Luke Petchell, Latta Chauhan)
Everyone arrived the night before, meaning everyone could walk the challenging course and mentally prepare for it! Luckily we had a little rain that night to make the ground ever so slightly less hard.
The morning was relatively calm as one by one the team faced the dressage judges, which was the ticket through to the jumping! Being on flatter ground, the showjumping course was more straightforward than the area one but still had much room for mistakes to be made, the team sailed through dropping only one pole J
By the time cross country rolled around, there was a delay for a faller which only added to the tension! Again the team managed three clears although there was an unfortunate run out for one team member.
By 6pm Tiffany, Jonti, Luke and Latta we mounted ready to receive the place of 8th for the team (out of a hefty 27), an 8th for Jonti and a 4th for Latta. It was an enjoyable day for all, with the occasional game of cricket.
Good luck to the novice team on the 28th!

BROCKLESBY PONY CLUB ONE DAY EVENT
This was the third year running the Brocklesby Pony Club have held their annual One Day Event at the Point to Point site in Brocklesby Park. This is a wonderful setting and the new level 2 track proved a success with some younger riders and novice horses. The course looked splendid, the months of hard work had paid off for Jonny Barnard and his team of helpers. The ground was in excellent condition and rode well, especially considering this is one of the earliest events of the season.
The later classes were very well attended, the open had record entries, many riders have discovered this track is very useful in preparation for the oncoming BE events. It was Lucy Bullas riding Master Jack 11 that took the top spot finishing on a mark of 40.2.
In addition to this Brocklesby was the first pony club to host the Musto Eventing challenge, and all Pony Club Members taking part will be entered into the Musto Open Eventing League. Through competing, Members will earn points for getting placed and completing double clear rounds, and the horse and rider combination with the most points at the end of the series will win a number of prizes including a training bursary with a top trainer.
Local rider and double Gold medal winner Emily Parker presented the prizes and complimented everyone on the professional running and excellent flowing track this event had to offer.
Our own members had success in a number of sections – Trophies for Best Brocklesby Members being presented to Ellie Tranter (junior) Jonti Bartlett (novice) Latta Chauhan ( Intermediate) and Jess Milson (Open)
