AREA TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS WILL BE PUT ON DISCIPLINE PAGES
Welcome to the Croome Hunt Branch of the Pony Club website – please click on the pages on the left hand side for further information.
We are a medium sized Branch with members from 4 years up to 25 years old. We are a friendly Branch and small enough so that everyone knows everyone else and large enough to have discipline managers for Show-jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Tetrathlon/Triathlon – we also have an increasing participation in Mounted Games with an enthusiastic trainer and group of children. If members are competitive riders then they are encouraged to join teams representing the Branch in all Disciplines with Area (and Championships) competitions being their goal; those not wanting to ride competitively are encouraged to join the Quiz teams and to enjoy their riding in a non-competitive way.
The Branch has regular rallies (at least one a month throughout the year) which are either a working rally or show-jumping or cross-country – all Members are welcome (and encouraged) to come to all the rallies and any discipline training that they are interested in – as well as Stable Management Rallies and training for the Progressive Tests that are the backbone of the Pony Club’s ethos as a training organisation.
The highlight of our year is Camp which is open to all ages so there is a good mix of older Members to help with the younger ones; members aged 11 years and over on the first day of Camp stay over, those younger come in daily but their ponies are stabled onsite – Camp is at Lincomb Equestrian (near Stourport) where there are excellent facilities including surfaced and grass arenas, a cross-country course with a good variety of jumps from 1′ up to about 3’6″, areas for Mounted Games and a Farm Ride. The first few days are for instruction (mounted & un-mounted) with the last day as Competition Day when all that the Campers have learnt is put into practice.
There is a suppportive Parents Association (the Committee always welcomes new members – all parents/guardians and ex-Members are automatically members) which is the fund-raising arm of the Branch. The Association usually runs two show-jumping shows a year during the winter/spring – one for lower heights and one for classes up to 1.10m. In October we hold a Fun Ride which is over land not usually open to the public.
