HOLCOMBE HUNT PONY CLUB NEWS LETTER

                                                                                                                      JANUARY 2012                     

 Dear Members, Parents and Friends, 

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. 

I had a lovely hack yesterday in the sunshine, but I must admit my toes were more than a little chilly.   Please do remember to check your pony’s water regularly through this cold snap. 

Training sessions for Mounted Games and Show Jumping are continuing with success. If you wish to represent Holcombe Hunt Pony Club in Show Jumping, Mounted Games, Dressage or Triathlon, please do let me know. There are winter competitions continuing throughout the season. Becky will be compiling names and representatives for Summer Area competitions please do let her know if you wish to be considered for these teams. 

Rallies are continuing monthly at Croft Top and a weekend session once per month at another venue. Once the spring sunshine arrives we hope to be able to include extra outdoor rallies. 

Our Annual Presentation Night will once again be held at Haslingden Cricket Club on 31^stMarch 2012. Tickets are now available. Please get in touch with your ticket requirements. Non-members are welcome. Please return last year’s trophies to Joanne Latham as soon as possible.

 We are also holding our Parents’ Evening on 2^ndFebruary 2012 at Haslingden Cricket Club and further information is enclosed. 

Enclosed is your membership renewal form. It is essential that these are completed and returned by 31^st January 2012. 

Becky has already started to plan camp 2012 and already we have names on the list. Please book on as early as possible.

Remember to check the website at least weekly. We are so busy over the winter periods and unfortunately we cannot fit everything onto the programme cards. 

As the winter months draw in it is absolutely essential that you book on the rally by the Friday before. You can email, leave a message on [01942 523870] or text [07980 540668]. Please do not worry if we don’t reply, just leave your name and you will be on the list! If there does happen to be adverse weather conditions, please check the website if there should happen to be snow, ice or gales. We will post any cancellations upon there. 

I have enclosed the latest training/competition dates for your dairy. However, please do check our website as there are many other opportunities coming up in the future including visits to the Holcombe Hunt kennels and Police kennels, XC training with Martin Whalley at Charity Farm and working towards test and achievement badges. There is also training available for older members provided by Area 4 and Hilary Wakefield
