Rules

All classes will be ridden astride.

Equitation classes must be ridden in a snaffle bridle with a cavesson, drop or flash noseband. No spurs allowed in equitation classes.

Ridden Mountain and Moorland entries must be fully registered with their own breed society.

Classes may be amalgamated at the discretion of the committee of HHPC

Full set of rules and conditions are available Riding Hats must be worn to comply with safety standards and current Pony Club rules from the secretary on request.

Legal Liability

The Pony Club, the trustees, the Equestrian Council nor any person acting on behalf of The Pony Club will be held responsible for any accident, damage injury or loss at loss at rallies or any other meetings to Members or their ponies.

Class 9             Pony Club Pony/Horse (may be required to jump a small fence) class will be split into Pony/Horse if required

To be judged immediately following the completion of class 7. It is

the rider’s responsibility to be prompt for this class.

Class 1 Poles on the ground  - shortened course

Class 2 Height approx 1 foot (30cm) – shortened course

Class 3 1st round 1’9” (55cm)

Class 4 1st round 2’3” (70cm)

Class 5 1st round 2’9” (85cm)

Class 6 1st round 3’3” (100cm)

Maximum two of above classes for any horse/pony may be entered:

Class 7 Jockey & Groom – to be run after class 3

(Pony and rider to jump a course, then hand over to dismounted groom who also completes a course on foot.  Groom to replace any jumps after jockey completes course)

Class 8 Pairs Jumping (max 70cm) – to be run after class 4

(Time added for poles down.  Riders hand over whip in marked area)

Entries can be made on the day for classes 7 and 8

Rosettes to 6th place in each class.

Saddleworth & District pony club are holding a one day event Dressage/Show jumping/Cross-country to be held on the pony club field Platting Road.

  • Open to all members & non-members competitors will complete a dressage test followed by a show jumping course and finally a cross country element.
  • Body protectors must be worn for the cross-country element & recommended for the Show jumping phase.
  • Prizes for winner of each class and rosettes to 6th place.
  • This event is intended to be run as a fun day for members & non-members.
