HUNTING
The Hursley branch of the Pony Club are extremely lucky to have several very welcoming local hunts. We are most closely associated with the Hursley Hambledon but also have excellent connections with the our other neighbouring hunts such as the Wilton, New Forest & Royal Artillery.
During October half term the Hursley Hambledon Hunt had a Meet at Braishfield Manor which many Hursley members supported and I hope it gave you all a taster of what Hunting can be like. There will be further Children’s Meets and Pony Club meets throughout the season and I will keep you all updated – make sure you have asked me to include you in the ‘Hunting Email Tree’ to be sure you get all the information sent directly to you.
The Wilton Hunt reported that their Opening Meet on October 29th was one of the biggest in recent history – thank you to all Hursley members who were there to show their support – I trust you had a brilliant day!

HUNTING 2011/2012
All Pony Club members and their families are very welcome to join any of our local hunt packs for a day’s hunting – either Autumn Hunting or after the Opening Meet. You don’t have to be a subscriber (fully paid up member) as all hunts welcome ‘day caps’ where you turn up on an ad hoc basis (having called the Hon Sec. to ask permission) and hunt on your particular chosen day.
There are a few rules to understand and etiquette to uphold but if you are interested in following hounds for a day then please get in touch with me and I will gladly get you up to speed.
The Wilton, New Forest and Hursley Hambledon will undoubtedly be organising particular ‘Pony Club Meets’ where younger followers are especially welcome and details of these will be available as the season progresses.
As usual, throughout this coming season, I will be receiving regular communications from our surrounding hunts with details of their meets. We are unable to print this information in our newsletter but, as in previous seasons, I will be able to email this information regularly to anyone who ‘opts in’ to our Hunting Email Tree. If you would like to be included in the distribution of this information, please email me and I will add you to the list.
