North Argyll | Area 1

The Equestrian Youth Organisation

Welcome to our Branch of The Pony Club. Located in the west highlands of Scotland, the North Argyll branch stretches from Lochgilphead in the south, west to the island of Lismore and north to Fort William. Our members meet regularly for rallies, instruction, stable management, showjumping and dressage competitions in Benderloch, Appin and Oban, and we co-host a joint annual meeting every year in collaboration with the Oban and District Riding Club.

Julie Donn is our Chief Instructor and passed her A test in 2010. Alongside Julie, we also invite qualified and experienced instructors from all over Scotland to lead and to teach at our rallies and other events throughout each calendar year. We have a range of abilities from lead rein riders to our B test candidates and, as we believe strongly in the continuous development of knowledge and ability of all members, we aim to meet twice a month as a club (come rain or shine!) so that individuals can learn as well as socialise together.

The Pony Club has been the starting point for a large majority of our equestrian team members, equine professionals and medal winners. Training is at the heart of The Pony Club and we provide an excellent opportunity for members to develop lifelong skills in all matters equine including riding, safety, health and nutrition, animal welfare and stable management.

We welcome you to check out our website and learn more about us and what we do. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch by clicking on the Contact Us link at the top of this page and leaving a message. We are a fun and friendly Branch and we are looking forward to welcoming you.
