Feb 2017

Dear All,
Exciting news we have managed to pull together a Pony Club / BE League table with the huge help of Jane Ogle whom has written the entry forms and will collate results. This is just for Area 9 but I really think it should work on a National Level. I need you all to try your best to circulate the news particularly to those members wavering on whether thy might re join because they now go BE . We need to prove that you can successfully be a pony club member and go BE.
How it works . Every member going BE to pay £10 for the first horse and £5 for any others for the whole season. Members will be responsible for emailing Jane with results within 7 days of the competition. Please look at the attachment to see how to gain points. Those BE Members placing at the Areas at Dauntsey will gain double points to encourage participation.

Free lessons at their yards pledged for the top 3 winners from
80cms   Kitty King

December 2015 – Rally Report from Eventing Rally with Stella Bunn – Arena XC clinic 12/12/15 Hillview Arena

No accidents to report.  Windy day caused havoc, jumps blowing down and it was hard to for the riders to hear me at times.Over view – All the children ride very well, they all listened carefully to instructions and therefore were able to ride the exercises successfully and then take on board any comments I made in order to then ride the exercises with better rhythm and straightness. All the riders were a pleasure to train and were all keen to learn.Scales of training need to be bought into all training sessions so all the children are aware of them, why we use them and then they can make a structured plan using them to help them reach their goals.SessionCanter poles 9 feet apart on the diagonal – most found this hard to start with but all achieved a better canter in order to ride the exercise successfully.Angled single canter pole – as aboveSkinny related distance  – most rode the upright on a related distance to the skinny barrel well, however some of the horses needed to have more confidence for the barrel, some riders found they needed to be quicker to correct any loss of straightness within the related distance in order to be straight for the barrel.Corner- most were good here, although better lines need to ridden for those wanting to move up the levels, a couple of the horses were unsure here and will benefit from more of these being used in arena training.Coffin – all the horses were confident over the tray, a few of the riders were slow to react on the non jumping stride in order to keep the horse in front of their leg, however they were quick to learn the feel for this and all finished jumped it with an active positive canter.Further TrainingMore training using skinnies, corners and riding tricky lines required.
Flatwork with poles to improve jumping skills, eg rhythm, control, canter quality and straightness.
Flatwork in general. Many thanks, all the best Stella BunnWeb site  – stellabeventing.coAugust 2015 – Well done to our Novice Eventing Team (Izzy, Ralph, Olivia and Saskia) who recently competed at the Pony Club Championships in Cheshire, and especially Izzy Lee who was placed 7th overall!
