Proficiency Tests

The Pony Club training structure encourages members to take tests throughout their Pony Club career; this enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding. The tests are normally taken at recommended ages and are designed with certain objectives in mind.  Each test is awarded a different colour felt to be placed under their Pony Club badge.

The test syllabus for each test, along with the recommended minimum age and the felt colour is published on a test card.

The next E to C Test Days are:
To be advised

OBH Chilterns holds ‘Test Days’ throughout the year, normally during school holidays for members ready to take their E to C tests.  Any member can book a place at any of the test days.  If a parent is unsure whether their child is ready to take a certain test they can talk to any of our instructors at a Working Mounted Rally or call our Chief Instructor for advice.

We organize two C+ tests per year.  This is the first test to be carried out by an external branch examiner and when members are ready to take the test they will be contacted on an individual basis.  There will be a series of riding and stable management sessions to attend before the test can be taken.

The B Test is organized by Area 12, normally during the summer months of each year and again members will be contacted on an individual basis when they are ready to take the test.

The AH and A tests will be organized through Head Office.
