WHAT TO WEAR TO RALLIES:

Rider
MEDICAL ARMBANDS – COMPULSORY FOR ALL TRAINING AND RALLIES.
BODY PROTECTORS are compulsory for cross country
ALL JEWELLERY MUST BE REMOVED
Hat – see hat rules (click HAT_RULE_2012 ).  Must be tagged by the DC
Black or navy hat cover
Hairnet
Gloves (black, brown, navy or white) not for mounted games
White shirt and pony club tie OR navy OBH North polo shirt (or red PPC shirt for mounted games)
Navy OBH North sweatshirt
Pony Club Badge & Test felt - not for mounted games
Beige or dark jodhpurs – NO WRITING ON THEM
Black or brown jodhpur boots with or without black or brown half chaps or gaiters, or long riding boots.  MUST HAVE THIN SMOOTH SOLES – NO THICK RIDGED SOLES.

IF IT IS COLD YOU MAY WEAR A JACKET – BUT IT SHOULD BE A PLAIN DARK JACKET AND SHOULD NOT HAVE A HOOD.  OBH North navy jackets are available for purchase from Jenny Martin.

Sweatshirts, polo shirts, medical armbands are available for purchase from Jenny Martin 01923 263919.

Horse/Pony
All tack should be black or brown boots should be black, brown or white
Saddle cloths should be plain black, brown, navy or white with no coloured binding.

WHAT TO WEAR TO COMPETITIONS
For all disciplines you must wear a hat, which has been tagged as being the correct standard (see Hat Rules).  If your chinstrap comes undone in a competition, you must do it up or replace it before continuing.
THERE ARE RULE BOOKS FOR EACH DISCIPLINE WHICH CAN BE VIEWED ON THE PONY CLUB WEBSITE – http://www.pcuk.org/index.php/disciplines then click on the discipline you require.  This will give full details of what to wear, tack etc.
NO JEWELLERY MAY BE WORN.  You may wear a stock pin placed horizontally or a tie clip.
PRIZE GIVING – you must be correctly dressed in your competition riding clothes.
RING ETIQUETTE – please don’t stand in walkways.  Pass left hand to left hand.  Riders using a slower pace should take the inside track.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU THANK THE ORGANISERS BEFORE LEAVING A COMPETITION.

DRESSAGE:
Hats: Hat or silk must be black or navy.  Please here for Hat Rules.
Hairnet: to be worn with the exception of very short hair
Jodhpurs: must be beige
Riding boots and chaps: Plain blackk or brown half chaps worn with standard riding or jodhpur boots of the same colour are allowed.  Tassels are not allowed. Standard riding boots or jodhpur boots must have a smooth, fairly thin sole, and a well defined square cut heel.  No other footwear will be allowed.
Jackets: tweed with a Pony Club tie or stock, or navy blue or black with a Pony Club tie or white or cream hunting stock PLUS Pony Club badge with test felt.
Gloves: all competitiors must wear gloves
Spurs: You need permission of your DC to wear spurs.  If you don’t hold our B Test, you need written  proof of this permission.  Spurs must be blunt.  If the spurs are curved, the curve must be downwards and the shank must point straight to the bak. The shank must not be more than 3cm long.
Whips: may be carried in the test (except for Prix Caprilli).
Saddle: Brown or black
Girth: white, cream or dark coloured
Bridle: Plain black or tan leather only with no white or coloured decoration on the noseband or browband.
Numnahs/Saddleclothes: White, cream, navy, brown or black only.  No logo.  Any piping must be the same colour.
Bits: Snaffle – there are different types. Please discuss any doubts with the Dressage Manager.  No bit guards allowed.
Nosebands: Cavesson, drop or flash
Boots/Bandages/Neckstraps: may be worn to ride in but NOT during the test

SHOW JUMPING:
As for Dressage with the following amendments:
Plain saddlecloths and pads in Branch Colours with logos (up to 200 sq cms) are allowed
Hats: Hat or silk must be black or navy
Whips: must be no longer than 75 cm and no shorter than 45 cm overall
Martingales: Irish, standing, running or bib are allowed. Must be brown or black.
Nosebands: Cavesson, drop, flash, grakle, combination or Kineton
B its: snaffle, pelham or curb, kimblewick, gag snaffle, continental and American gags (please discuss any doubts with show jumping manager). Bit guards are allowed – must be made of rubber and smooth on both sides.
Boots: may be worn but must be black, white or brown

EVENTING & TETRATHLON CROSS COUNTRY PHASE
As for show jumping with the following changes:
Cross country shirt: polo neck sweater or shirt with long sleeves and stock are recommended.
Hat: Fixed peak hats are not allowed.  A silk in cross country colours may be worn.
Body protector and medical armband are compulsory.

MOUNTED GAMES
Rider
Hat (which must be tagged) with black hat silk
Hairnet with hair tied back with a red scrunchy
White shirt and pony club tie
White sweatshirt
Beige jodhpurs
Black jodhpur boots – please clean your boots, including the soles!  REMEMBER NO RIDGED SOLES.
Joddy clips

You will be provided with an OBH North bib to wear over your shirt and sweatshirt.

Pony
Should be as clean as possible bearing in mind how cold it may be.  Hooves should be picked out and hoof oil put on at the last minute.  Manes and tails should not be plaited.  Remember if putting mane and tail conditioner on only put it on the tail.

Tack
If in doubt check the rule book, but please make sure that all tack is black or brown, and well fitted.
Please make sure that your stirrup is big enough for your boots (there must be 7mm clearance on either side)
Girths should preferably be white, if not black or brown is accepted, no other colour
If your pony wears boots these should be black, brown or white – no colours.
If you do not already have an OBH North red saddle cloth please let me know
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR TACK IS CLEAN! PLEASE CHECK STITCHING.
