Lord Leconfield Hunt Pony Club Race Day.
Ascot Racecourse
11th April 2011
Ascot Schedule 2011 Ascot Entry Declaration Form 2011
Open to Members of The Pony Club aged 10 ˆ 15 years riding a pony.
A Member of The Pony Club can take their pony (after following the entry procedures) to a racecourse in the UK and race against fellow Members of the same standard (i.e. ˆ Novice combination, slightly experience and experienced).
The races are split into three levels ˆ 128cm (12.2hh) & under, 138cm (13.2hh) & under and 148cm (14.2hh) & under.
To take part in a Pony Club Race Day you DO NOT need specialised racing tack. You just need a slightly fitter pony than normal. For a first timer you can use your everyday GP saddle. The only additional tack you will require is a surcingle or an over-girth ˆ this is purely from a safety point of view. All the current bit rules for Show Jumping & Eventing are the same for Pony Club Racing. No need for racing silks ˆ your colours that you use for cross country are acceptable.
The idea behind the day is learn and have fun !
A copy of the Rule Book can be downloaded from the website along with other useful information.
