EASTER BUNNY HUNT – APRIL 23RD 2011

Our Easter bunny hunt was another great success held at Stanford Hall by kind permission of the Whyte family.

It was a glorious, sunny day that saw some 37 riders ride around the beautiful Stanford Estate.  I would like to thank my group of helpers that, without their help, the day would not have run so smoothly.

Charles Whyte for moving logs and putting out the portable fences. Julie Hibbert for lending vital equipment, the Lonsdale family for collecting money and supervising the food, eggs and drink.  My bunnies for the day  – who were Lotty, Rose and Sophie. Lotty’s Gran for making the tea. All the parents for doing some wonderful food and also my parents for babysitting and also the team of babysitters out in the field.  I hope to see you all next year.

 Sarah Johnson.

JUNIOR HUNTER TRIAL AT PRESTWOLD – APRIL 9TH 2011

Our Junior Hunter Trial at Prestwold on Sunday 10 April was a great success. The weather and the course were both fantastic.
We are most grateful to Edward and Juliet Packe-Drury-Lowe for their most generous hospitality, and the help and work they put into the course.
Huge thanks to our organiser, Rebecca Lait, who at the age of eighteen and still at university, volunteered to run this competition, and did a marvellous job, along with her posse of helpers.
Well done to all the competitors, who earned praise from the fence judges for the standard of their riding.
An excellent day all round.
