Welcome to the South Dorset Hunt Pony Club

The South Dorset Hunt branch was founded in 1931 and still has strong ties with the South Dorset Hunt. At present we have 133 members and is part of Area 14 which includes 20 other branches.

We are very fortunate to have excellent instructors, many motivated volunteers and the use of some great facilities, all set in a beautiful part of South England including The Isle of Purbeck.  We have regular use of facilities at Bovington Saddle Club, Toomer Farm, Moreton Equestrian Centre, Kingston Maurward and many other great venues.

Teams from across all the disciplines continually represent our branch with pride and we wish them all a successful 2014

Our aim is to combine learning with fun and friendship, with and without your pony/horse.

“As a Member of the Pony Club, I stand for the best in sportsmanship as well as in horsemanship. I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game, well played and take winning or losing in my stride, remembering that without good manners and good temper, sport loses its cause for being. I shall endeavour to treat my horse with consideration at all  times.”
