Eventing & Hunter Trials

Eventing is the ultimate test of a horse and rider – comprising of three disciplines – Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country.  It is best described as an equestrian triathlon.

Pony Club Eventing Competitions are organised at a number of different levels:-

Branch Competitions – friendly competitions organised by branches for their own Members and neighbouring Pony Clubs.

Area Competitions – Open to all Members within Pony Club Area 14.  It’s a qualifying competition for individuals and teams for the National and Regional Championships.

Note: Teams and individuals are selected by the Team Trainer and entries are made by the Team Coordinator Claire Ferguson.

National and Regional Championships – for teams and individuals that have qualified at the Area Competition.

Training for Teams and Individuals:

Levels of competition range from 70cm to 110cm.  The best way to prepare yourself for eventing is to attend as many dressage, show jumping and cross country rallies as possible. Team training will run from the spring and teams and individuals will be selected from those who attend. If you would like to put yourself forward for team or individual selection please contact Claire Ferguson and make sure you are available on both the Area and Championship competition dates.
