Sophie Hall

Sophie, Guss and Sophie’s Mum and Dad (Sue and Ray)

South Shropshire member, Sophie Hall, has not only been selected for the GB Student Squad for eventing, but she’s competing at Badminton on 3 & 4 May in the Mitsubishi Motors Cup – Sophie’s hoping to win a car of course!. Supporters are more than welcome to cheer her on. You can read Sophie and her Mum’s blog all about her achievements and training with her horse Guss for the big day, here

Sophie’s Mum, Sue writes:

I know as the members get older and move on to University etc. it becomes more difficult to keep involved but Sophie has continued to represent the South at the Area Dressage each year and is still very proud to be a member! For any members moving onto university it maybe of interest that equestrian interests need not end. Sophie became involved with the Durham University Equestrian Team in Year one and is still there now! They have qualified for the Regionals this year which is very exciting. Sophie also trialled for the Great Britain Student Riders Squad and a few weeks ago found out that she had been selected! She could not believe it!

Sophie is lucky enough that mum and dad have kept her beloved Guss going at home. She’s heading off to the Mitsubishi Motors Cup Competition at Badminton this May after qualifiying last September at Brooksby! She is writing a blog which is on the Mitsubishi Motor Cup website if anyone is interested The South Shropshire Pony Club have been mentioned of course!

This year has turned out to be quite a remarkable one for Sophie so far and she will always remember the pony club for their support and encouragement through the years!

Kind Regards, Sue
