 National Championships 2011
Draycott House

Henry Norton National Championships (Draycott House) 2011Congratulations to Henry Norton who represented the club at the championships at both Show Jumping and Eventing in the intermediate sections of the competition.

Henry didn’t get placed in either event but he was a great ambassador for South Wold North and rode very well earning himself a prestigious rosette for Horsemanship on the Cross Country course. This is a special award given to only six competitors overall so really well done.

Henry received a rosette for a double clear in the eventing which was also a great achievement. He ended up about 14th with a very respectable dressage score of 34.64. In the Show Jumping his final score was 13 which was pretty good over a tough course.

It was a very enjoyable couple of days and a fantastic experience, definitely something to aim for again next year.

Area Eventing 2011

Thank you everyone who helped, supported and competed last weekend I thought that we had two really good days.  We were just unlucky not to have got some of our individuals through and also our novice team.

Livvy and Ruth competed in the Open as individuals and both put in fantastic performances; they came 2nd in a mixed team with two members from Scunthorpe but unfortunately cannot qualify as a mixed team.

In the Intermediate we entered two teams. Camila came 5th and Henry came 4th and qualified for the Championships as an individual.  Good Luck to him at Draycott.
In the Novice we entered one team and two individuals. Our team of Liberty, Niamh, Lily and Ella came 4th just missing out on qualifying to the Championships. Lily was 4th, Ella 9th, Liberty 7th, Niamh 6th and Robyn 3rd in their respective arenas.

They all did really well as they all were well placed going to the cross country but this was the first year the novice was timed cross country . The time was tight and it was hard for the smaller ponies to compete with the horses so it was just unfortunate that we lost time there. I hope they change it back next year!
