This page will tell you what is going on in the club – not just our programme of rallies and competitions, but all our activities including training sessions, visits, social events, etc. Use . If there is something you would like the club to be doing (and we’re not), tell a Committee Member. If enough people are interested, we could start doing it.
Dressage/Showjump Practices
Anyone interested in learning more about dressage? All ages and abilities are welcome. These practices are held alternately on a Wednesday evening at Sheepgate Equestrian with instruction from Karen Burgess (07990 667005).
For more info or to book please contact Karen direct.
Efficiency Tests & Achievment Badges
Tests are organised throughout the year. They consist of a course of training, followed by the test itself. The achievement badges are carried out in the same way as the efficiency tests and are there to give an insight into tests. They are both well worth doing and really improve both riding and horse & pony care. Some parents have even learnt a few things, while their children were doing the tests! The tests range in difficulty from mini achievement badges (the easiest) to the A test (the most difficult). These tests are recommended to be taken at the ages listed below
Mini Achievement Badges – Pre 9 years
Achievement Badges – 9 yrs and above
D test – 9 years
D+ test – 10years
(Both of the above are done at camp)
RRS Achievement Badge- 11years
C – 12 years
C+ – 14 years
The higher tests are organised as required.
Team Selections
If you wish to be considered for a team for the 2011 season you will need to attend 2 full day (outdoor) rallies and 2 practices. In addition to attending the relevent selection day/evening, you will need to be able to attend any team trainings after selection.
The teams will be selected by our DC and our Chief Instructor Karen Burgess.
If you are interested in being selected for any of the teams at any level please contact the relevant organiser. You do not need to be a budding Ellen Whittaker, Zara Phillips or Carl Hester, just willing to have a go and take part!
