Calling all Tetrathlon or would be competitors!

Sadly Lise Cole is no longer able to organise our Tet teams so in the meantime I will be doing all entries.

Tetrathlon is a great way to meet other kids in the Pony Club and is a great way to take part in teams from around the age of 6 upwards.

It consists of a run, swim, ride and shoot (over 8 years). If you share a pony with a sibling you are able to share a pony between 2 children, which is good as it means you don’t necessarily have to have a pony each! If you would like to hear about any practices or upcoming competitions please email me on so that I may add you to the email list!

It’s been quite a few years since we updated the list so would be good to start afresh with a new “live” list.

The next competition is at Mid Surrey on the 21st April (ride, run alongside hunter trial) with shoot swim & run on the 27th April! Please let me know if you would like to be entered or need more information.

Competitors should be regularly competing competently at BE100 level to compete in this competition.

Trip to Badminton Horse Trials:

Jane Cobb may be able to organise a coach trip to Badminton on 10th May which is X Country day, depending on how many people want to go.  Based on 33 people, the cost would be approx £25 per head for children 12 and under and about £45 per head for adults.  Price includes coach and entrance fees.    Anyone interested needs to email Jane Cobb ( ) with numbers  by March 29th so we can get a final costing and see if it is viable to put on.  All children will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Jane Cobb 07743 952890 is now Mini Team Eventing Manager.  There are two events at level 2 on 4th May Coombelands and Eridge and anyone interested in going to either please contact her asap .

Save the Date! 14th June – Summer BBQ/Disco/Show jumping with 2 legs!

Full details to follow but for now, please can everyone save the date of Sat 14th June – approx 3/4pm start for a Surrey Union Pony Club summer barbecue to be held at Gildings Barn, Newdigate. With great thanks to Penny Graepel (nee Hall), an ex member, we have the use of a wonderful barn and lovely grounds in which to hold the event this year. Its normally in great demand for weddings etc and will be a perfect place to enjoy meeting up with friends and introduce new members too. We are planning music, good food and hopefully some kids show jumping amongst other things for anyone energetic enough! Any ideas and offers of help most welcome.

Sorry for the late posting of thanks and the results for this year’s Prize Giving. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the organisation of this year’s Prize Giving which was a truly enjoyable evening.  The award ceremony, illuminating talk from Michelle about her publishing company Forelock Books, and copious amounts of excellent food were obviously enjoyed by the strong turnout of members and their families.  Congratulations to all who received awards and good luck to all members endeavouring throughout the coming year to be receiving one at next year’s Prize Giving.   See Trophies Awarded
