You will be expected to be clean and tidy and will need:

• a hard hat (conforming to one of PAS 015, BS EN 1384, ASTMF 1163, Snell E2001) is a mandatory requirement
• a white shirt, with pony club tie
• white or cream jodphurs
• a pony club sweatshirt or a hacking jacket
• your pony club badge
• Jodphur boots or long riding boots (NOT wellies or trainers)
• Your hair in a net or pony-tail if long
• No ear-rings or other jewelry (dangerous if you fall off)
• A back-protector if it is a cross-country rally

Your pony will need to be reasonably turned out, but not “smart” as for shows. (No-one expects plaits or minds a bit of mud in winter.) Tack needs to be in good order and well-fitting, the instructor will check it.
