Well Done Scott Combes

Royal Windsor Horse Show Junior Tetrathlon.

Scott Combes was part of the Southern England team over the weekend 12th/13th May with one girl from each of Areas 11 and 13.  The team was 5th out of 8 but Scott had an excellent competition with a shoot of 960 – equal 2nd – a very good run scoring 1080 and one of only three clear rounds in a very tightly timed stadium show jumping course to finish on an overall score of 4384. The team finished on a total score of just over 13000 but the Scottish team won with a huge score of nearly 13900 – an average of 4600 for each competitor.

To end the day the teams joined the Pony Club Mounted Games teams in the Main Arena in front of HM The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh where they all did a lap of honour past the Royal Box.

Area Dressage Teams 2011 – Sun 17th July – Report

Natti & Mavis in the Rain, winning their Arena

All members rode well in the sunshine and showers.  The Novice Team all did good tests in the 60’s but were unable to get into the rosettes.

Natti Phillips did very well to finish first in her Arena, after riding her test in a very heavy rain shower, which started as she entered A and only eased off when she left the Arena.  Phoebe Gregory finished 2nd in her Arena and the intermediate team was 2nd and only missed qualifying for the Championships by 1 point.  Natti Qualified as an individual.

The Juniors got the best of the weather and also did good tests, with individual placings for Miranda 6th, Bethany 4th and Lucy Jo 2nd.  This put the Team in 2nd place.

Area Show Jumping Teams – Thurs 28th July @ Newbury Showground.

Open Team:  Lily Mae Richardson. Stephanie Sherborne, Natti Phillips (Mavis), Suzanna Nodder.  The Team finished 2nd and Natti Phillips came 2nd individually and has qualified for the Championships in August

Intermediate Team: Venetia Matthews, Phoebe Gregory, Meg Lockyer, Hannah Royle.   The Team finished in 5th place and Megan Lockyer got into the individual Jump off but failed to be placed.

Novice Team: Perdy Leese, Frances Elgar, Flora Marking, Scott Combes.  The Team were unplaced in a very large class, which took all day to complete.

Area Eventing Teams 2011

Saturday 23rd @ Bovington

Open Ind: Lily Mae Richardson, had a good dressage and XC round but 12 faults in the show jumping meant they finished too far down to qualify.

Novice Teams: Alice Elgar, Perdy Leese, Phemie Dillon, Flora Marking,  Scott Combes, Marcus Bird, Frances Elgar, Jonathon Wheeler.

Sunday 24th @ Bovington

Intermediate Teams: Mimi Leese, Meg Lockyer, Natalie Phillips, Phoebe Gregory, Tara Leese, Hannah Royle, Rory Featherstone, Stephanie Sherborne.  The Teams finished 7th and 8th.  Both Stephanie Sherborne and Phoebe Gregory finished 5th in their sections and have qualified for the championship.
