NFU PC NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011
The four girls representing the Wylye Valley rode brilliantly to take Team FIRST place in the Novice Challenge Dressage at the NFU PC Novice Championships at Kelsall Hill in Cheshire on 27 August 2011.
Congratulations to Charlie Perrot (1st in her arena), Ellie Riley (3rd in her arena), Emily Skuse (3rd in her arena) and Stacey Martin.
Well done girls, we are all very proud of you and many, many thanks to Lyn Riley and Kim George for all their hard work.
Hannah Francis took 1st place in her section of the Eventing with a double clear, Jordan Phelps came 13th in her section (4flts sj and clear xc). Unfortunately, Emily Miller was eliminated in the xc phase but nevertheless rode very well and Emily Skuse was in joint 1st place after the dressage in her section, had 4flts sj but very sadly had a fall in the xc phase.
With terrible weather and a challenging xc course everyone rode exceptionally well and are to be heavily praised for their efforts and achievements.
Well done to you all!

AREA DRESSAGE 17th July 2011
The Area Dressage competition was hosted by the Portman PC and was held in the most beautiful setting of Ranston House with eight dressage arenas all set out by the riverside. The weather was mixed with sun and showers but for many Wylye members the day was filled with the sunshine of success!
The Novice Challenge team (below) of Charlie Perrot (2nd individ), Ellie Riley (2nd individ), Emily Skuse (1st individ) and Stacey Martin (3rd individ) won the AREA Novice Challenge and have now qualified for the National Championships in Cheshire later in the year. Well done to them, to Kim George for training them so well and to Lynn Riley for such an efficient job of managing them. The second year that Wylye have sent a team to these finals.
Novice Challenge winners
Congratulations to Hannah Francis (below)who won her arena in the Intermediate competition and has qualified for the National Championships in Nottingham in August and well done to Chloe Poolman (below) who came third in her arena and may yet get to the championships. Thanks to Sophie Dickinson for the hard work in training the riders, and to Tania Symes for all the hard work in organising all the training and rallies.
Chloe and Hannah
And if that was not enough the senior girls (below) have also qualified for the National Championships with a resounding win in the Open competition…the team of Holly Parker (1st individ & best junior), Lauren Pinnell, Zoe Symes (2nd individ) and Emily Proud (4th individ) rode superbly to bring off a resounding victory. Again thanks to Sophie and Tania for all their hard work to help the girls to do so well.
A HUGE well done to all those competing and the very best of luck to all those going to the Championships.
Geoff
The winning Open team
We entered two junior teams in the Area dressage competition; Wylye Valley Red (above with Kim) consisted of Imogen Moss and Eclipse, Hannah Thomas and Danny, Megan Blackmar and Saxon and Poppy Wilkinson and Puzzle. Poppy came 3rd in her section missing the winning post by only 0.5 percent so a very close call. Imogen Moss came 6th and Megan Blackmar came 5th. Hannah only just missed out on the individual placings but did an incredible test considering Danny had lots of other ideas, none of which were to do with dressage in his warm up! So well done Hannah for managing to get him back on track. This team came 3rd which is a brilliant result. The Wylye Valley Blue team consisted of Lauren Shepphard and Prince, Lauren Wyatt and Tilly, Christie Antoniou and Spot and Charlotte Limmond and Tommy. This was the first time any of these members had ridden at Area level and I am usually really happy if they just manage to remember their test! But not only did they all remember their test two managed an individual rossette in their arenas, Christie and Spot came 6th and Lauren Wyatt and Tilly came 5th with Lauren and Charlotte just missing out but still doing two of their best tests yet! This meant this team got a 7th team rosette.
I would just like to say how proud I was of all the riders, they were a credit to our pony club. They have all worked very hard and done lots of training which has paid off with the wonderful results that they achieved, I don’t know what I am going to do on a Monday night now!!!!!! Kim
A massive thank you to Kim for all her hard work and Monday nights – well, maybe she might be doing some additional training ready for those Championships???!!

AREA EVENTING 23 & 24th July 2011
The Novice Challenge Team B of Emily Miller, Jordan Phelps, Emily Skuse and Hannah Francis won the Area NC Eventing on Saturday 23 July 2011. All four went double clear and in the dresage Hannah had a score of only 22! For Hannah and Emily Skuse this means a double at the Championships and for Jordan and Emily Miller it will be a first time at the Championships.
What odds on the WVPC having a treble after the SJ this coming Thursday?
In the Open competition, on a very big X country course, Lauren Pinnel rode the course very bravely to complete the course, and Beth Tremelling with only one pole down in the SJ phase, then went to ride clear in the X country, but with time penalties she was unfortunately, not placed but this was only the second time that Beth had competed because of exam work at school.
Well done in the Intermediate competition to Hetty Horler 2nd in her section and Catherine Riley 6th in her section and for team 3rd the girls were joined by Jake Coward.
Well done to you all and many, many thanks to the managers Lynn and Tania for all their hard work and time given to get these riders to this standard.

Two junior teams did very well on 24 July at Bovington. Well done to Imogen, Georgia, Elizabeth and Mia who all finished on their dressage scores and well done Georgia for the best Wylye test with 35. The younger B team of Elizabeth, Biz, Issy and Mia beat the A team by 3 marks!
Good Luck eventers for next year and especially to Imogen, Georgia, Olivia, Freya, Biz and Cec who will be out of Juniors.
Thank you for coming to training and thank you to Paula and Kim for all your instruction and support.
With my very best wishes for a great camp and fantastic summer

AREA SHOW JUMPING July & August 2011
More amazing results for Hannah Francis & her wonderful pony True Stepper when they took 2nd place in their section of the Area Novice Challenge SJ on 28 July 2011, to qualify for the PC Novice Championships, to be held in Cheshire 27th-28th August.
This means the combination have now qualified for THREE different disciplines at the PC Championships! They qualified individually for the Intermediate dressage to be held on 14th August at Draycott House, Derbyshire, by coming 1st in their arena at the Area Dressage and then qualified with the team (1st place individually) at the Area Eventing for the Novice Challenge eventing, again at Cheshire.
An outstanding combination, well done Hannah and the very best of luck at the Championships!
Well done also for good clear rounds from Olivia Bishop, Alexis Symes, Emily Skuse, Billy Page and Libby Coles
