With the abolition of what was known as the ‘three rally rule’ eligibility to compete at Area Competitions, each Area created it’s own Eligibility to Compete Rule. Here is the Area 10 Rule:-<\/p>\n

Area 10 Rule re Eligibility to Represent the Branch at Area Competitions<\/strong>
\nIn order to be eligible to compete at Area Competitions, members from all Branches and Centres in Area 10 must have actively taken part in at least 3 Pony Club \u2018activities\u2019 during the previous 12 months. At least one of these \u2018activities\u2019 must be on the horse\/pony which they wish to compete on at Area competitions. These \u2018activities\u2019 must be undertaken between 1st July of the previous year, and 30th June of the current year in which the Area competition is taking place and at least one of them should take place in the current year.
\nAn \u2018activity\u2019 can be a rally, qualifying coaching, or training sessions or Camp and is one which is organised by a Branch committee, a Centre or the Area Rep and must be a minimum of an hour in length. Camp is counted as one \u2018activity\u2019.<\/p>\n

In the event that a member is prevented from attending the requisite three events by illness, absence from home or any other reason which in the opinion of the DC or Centre proprietor or Centre manager responsible for Pony Club, justifies absence, a dispensation may be given by the DC, the Centre proprietor or Centre manager responsible for Pony Club. In the event of a dispute, the facts shall be reported to the Area Rep whose decision will be final.<\/p>\n

Importantly and in addition to demonstrating loyalty to the Branch or Centre, the combination of horse and rider may also be required to prove their competence, safety, plus fitness of horse or pony, in the specific sport and level that the member wishes to participate at.
