Area 13 volunteers Daphne Barker, Julie Gordon, Karen Halls, Diana Hogg, Alison Lamb, Veronica Morris and Eddy Phipps were awarded their Cubitt Certificate and Badge at the Cubitt Award lunch held at Stratford Manor Hotel, Warwickshire on Thursday 8 June.  This means that they have given over 20 years of volunteering to the Pony Club and have been nominated for the award by their branch.

Also awarded the Award this year but sadly not able to be present at the lunch, were Wendy Lewis and Melita Royall.

PLUS Penny Briggs and Rose Mackie Hill received the Cubitt Bar for more than 30 years service.

2015

August 2015 –  Ailsa Wates from Lord Leconfield is on the Junior Event squad for Poland! – she completed the event with one stop XC – a great achievement.

Alex Kennedy from Hambledon Hunt (North) was a member of the British junior eventing team this summer and was the only rider to go double clear.

July 2015 – Flora Campbell from Chiddingfold Farmers has been appointed as one of the new PC Ambassadors which is a great achievement

Hollie Pearce (Garth Hunt) attended The Pony Club Rider Development Pathway National Camp weekend of 4 & 5 July at Somerford Park in Cheshire.  From the camp, six riders (2 in each discipline) are selected to receive further support, which will include funding for training, allocation of a sport specific mentor to each rider, and further dismounted (equestrian and non-equestrian) training opportunities.  Hollie has been selected for the Pony Club Rider Development Squad 2015 – only 2 Show Jumpers from the hundreds that applied from all over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales got into the squad

The RDP, supported by the Sport England funded BEF Excel Talent Programme, is designed to aid the development of Pony Club Members who show the ability to progress in their sport and provides a stepping stone for young riders working towards the talent pathways of the Olympic disciplines. This was a new initiative for 2014 and consists of ten regional assessment days, held in the spring, open to all Pony Club Members aged 12 years or over. At each of the ten assessment days, three riders are selected to go forwards to the National Rider Development Camp which was held this weekend at Somerford Park Farm, Cheshire

June 2015 – Great news that Chiddingfold Farmers’ member Anna Lawson and her horse Bryan II were selected for the Under 21 British Dressage Team to compete at the European Championships in France. An unfortunate timing issue meant that they were unable to go but they have qualified for the ‘Regionals’ at both AM and PSG levels

CONGRATULATIONS TO:   Tessa Bishop of Garth South and Flora Campbell of Chiddingfold Farmers both passed their A test in June 2015

1 June 2015 We are delighted to announce that Alex Kennedy from Hambledon Hunt (North)and Ailsa Waites from Lord Leconfield have been selected by British Eventing for the long list for the Racesafe sponsored Junior Team
