IMPORTANT TETRATHLON NEWS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Area 14 Tetrathlon managers, DCs and RCOs,<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We are looking forward to the Wilton Tetrathlon on Saturday 18th April,<\/strong> and well done to the members who competed at Tidpit yesterday for the junior ride phase.\u00a0 Thank you to all involved with organising this event. Wilton Tetrathlon schedule 2026.docx<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Please see the minutes of the Area 14 Tetrathlon on 27th February via zoom, which includes plenty of useful information to keep you updated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Wednesday 15th April (next Wednesday) CPD for Tetrathlon coaches, volunteers and parents, see attached for details, and link below.\u00a0 I would urge all RCOs to book on to this, plus everyone involved in helping or teaching running and swimming as well as equestrian coaches.\u00a0 It’s \u00a35 and delivered virtually, so quite accessible.\u00a0 Tet managers please forward to the tet parents in your branch as they will be interested too.\u00a0 Many thanks.\u00a0 This is a PC CPD which will be registered on Pelham.\u00a0 <\/b>RCOs are required to update their certificate after 5 years, however attending this CPD will be registered and will show good practice and is highly recommended.\u00a0 Any questions please give me a ring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

At the Tetrathlon meeting the committee unanimously agreed that all members are to wear ear defenders, as duty of care to young people’s health.\u00a0 Following further consultation with Louly this is the Area 14 policy which will be published on the Area 14 website and reviewed at the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As from 1st May 2026:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ear Defenders:\u00a0 In Area 14 all Pony Club members are to wear ear defenders (which cover the ears) at the firing point while shooting is in progress, during competitions and at practices.\u00a0 Area 14 members will be expected to wear ear defenders when competing and practising out of Area.\u00a0 Infants may not be in the range while shooting is in progress.\u00a0 All others aged under 18 years are encouraged to wear ear defenders while in the shooting range.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

PC branches are encouraged to purchase club ear defenders, in order that they are accessible for everyone, and to ensure a quality model is being used.\u00a0 Electronic models are not recommended.\u00a0 Please see a link below for styles which I hope is helpful:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Diving: from 1st May 2026 at Area 14 competitions, all Beanie swimmers are to start in the water ie no diving.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

First Aid provision:<\/strong> when organising practices and competitions, please ensure each phase has a first aid kit at hand, equipped to cater for someone requiring a plaster through to managing serious bleeding.\u00a0 At a competition, the named first aider should be easily recognised (ie label or yellow vest) and become available to attend to someone in need without the disruption of running of the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tetrathlon Rule Book 2026<\/strong>: is now available on Amazon, \u00a34.50, recommended reading, and all members competing at Area level should have a current copy.\u00a0 Please note rules for qualifying for the Tetrathlon Championships have changed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Range Conducting Officer course<\/strong>:\u00a0 I will be running a RCO course soon, just need 2 more people to go ahead, so if you’d like to qualify as an RCO or would like a refresher course, please contact me on this email.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Reasonable Adjustment requests<\/strong>:\u00a0 policy and forms are found on the PC website, please note that all requests need to be submitted at least 2 weeks before the event, with the signed approval of the branch DC and cc Area 14 Rep. Louly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
