Online AH Training with Liz Love

Join Live Love’s online coaching, taking you through the complete AH syllabus over10 weekly sessions. Liz Love is an AH Assessor, so who better to coach you! Only 8 in the group, for an hours session. So book early to secure your place … plus cheaper to book a block of 10 sessions! Sessions can be booked in blocks covering the 4 sections of the AH Syllabus, or as a full block of 10 sessions, Starting on 19th January at 6.30pm running each Wednesday for the following 10 weeks.

Online B test Training with Sarah MacDonald, FBHS

Join Sarah MacDonald’s online coaching, taking you through the complete B test Horse and Pony Care syllabus over10 weekly sessions. Sarah MacDonald, FBHS is an A test Assessor, so who better to coach you! Booking is for a full block of 10 one hour sessions, starting on 2nd February at 5pm and running each Wednesday (except march 23rd) for the following 10 weeks. The 10th session, which is a discussion of B test questions, will be with another B test assessor.

COACHING DEMONSTRATION CPD – ‘Coaching Dressage with Patrick Print FBHS’

Who is this training for? This a face to face training event for Pony Club Coaches, members and other interested parties. What are the aims of the training? Patrick will be delivering an interactive dressage coaching demonstration with members of The Pony Club. The focus will be coaching for development working along correct principles and using the Scale of Training. This is not a test standard setting day, but the demonstration riders will have already achieved Pony Club Test Certifications as well as having competitive dressage experience. The workshop aims to give coaches a sound grounding for coaching dressage to members riding and competing at different levels within Pony Club. What do delegates need to bring? Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring additional refreshments / snacks. We also ask that you bring hand sanitiser. This event will take place in an indoor school but we advise you to take warm clothing for February weather! If you are a Pony Club Coach, please bring a copy of or original current First Aid Certificate, Safeguarding Certificate and your PVG number. 1pm – 6pm This course will be run under current COVID guidance.

Vet talk on Mares and Foals

Specialist Talk from the Dick Vet Equine covering selection of mare and stallion, natural and artificial covering procedures, veterinary procedures before stud, signs of season, covering program, foaling environment, pregnancy test, feeding the in-foal mare, inoculations, foaling at home, signs of labour, basic problems in foaling, problems with foals and young stock, travelling mares and foals, weaning foals and care of young stock. This covers a huge part of the AH Section B Part II but also interesting for anyone who has a mare and was considering breeding as its not all cute and fuzzy forelocks! Racing and TB youngstock yard visits, Denholm, nr Hawick, TD9

Visit to Wells Stables, Denholm, Hawick, TD9 8TD for yard tour and to see Thoroughbred youngstock and learn about how they are produced for the sales, hosted by Kate MacTaggart, followed by a guided tour of Paul Robson’s racing yard at Spittal on Rule, Denholm, TD9 8TA and talk about what happens when the youngstock go into training. This visit is very relevant to the B and AH sections on Stable Yard designs and fittings, conformation, Exercise and Fitness and Health and Condition, and for anyone interested in careers in the racing industry.
