Bolesworth International volunteers needed …

We (PCUK) have been asked by the organisers of Bolesworth International to run a ‘Pony Club Zone’ in the auction stables area on 17 and 18 June. The stables are in a really good, central location so should attract a number of passersby and be a great opportunity spread the word about The Pony Club to visitors, as well as giving children something fun and informative to do.

PCUK plan to have a number of different activities going on in nine of the stables which will also have ponies for visitors to meet, a course of Mini Jumps and two learning zones. Everyone will get a ‘passport’ when they enter and they will be able to collect stamps as they go around each activity. They will also be able to sign up to do their intro to Pony Club Badge on the day which will include grooming and feeding ponies.

Would any Members be interested in giving us a hand at all please? I’m looking for

  • Three volunteers to look after the Mini Jumps (picking up the poles, helping form a queuing system, putting the jumps up and down as necessary and giving out Mini Jumps bookmarks
  • Two to help one of our Ambassadors to distribute the passports (explaining how it works – they will be briefed on the day) / sign them up to the intro badge
  • One to help one of our Ambassadors in the last of the stables where they will collect their final passport stamp to enter a prize draw and collect a sticker

  • Two or three volunteers to man the last stable. Ideally one of them would need to be a bit older so they can oversee it.

I think Members would need to be over 12, or any much younger ones might need a parent / guardian to accompany them.

If any of your Members have signed up to the YELA scheme please ask them to bring their log books with them and a member of staff will be happy to complete it as necessary. For more information about the YELA scheme please visit

Please get in touch if you have any queries.
