Junior Regional Tetrathlon Championships

This is a team competition between the four nations and was held in beautiful weather in Moreton Morrell College.  The Welsh had a team of 5 girls and a team of 5 boys selected from all over Wales.  Area 5 was well represented by B Leah Lamb (Flint & Denbigh) and Lana Booth (Ch H North)in the girls team and Harry Taylor(Ch H South) and Freddie James (East Ch) for the boys.

The XC was up to height, unforgiving and really tested the rider rather than the horse.  All competitors did extremely well in such good company.  The Welsh Girls’ Team came 2nd and Lana Booth won Individually with a great shoot of 940 and clear XC.  Freddie James competing in his first big competition came fifth with a shoot of 900 and 1362 XC. Harry taylor was 8th.  Leah lamb doing her first big competition ever, swam exceptionally well and tackled the XC with her sual focus scoring a creditable 1000 points.

Well done All.

Polocrosse

Daisy Stone age 12 and Leia  LLoyd Williams age 15, both from Flint and Denbigh Branch, have been selected to play for the Welsh team at the Four Nations tournament to be held at the Cheshire Polo Club, Tarporley July 21 -25th. They will have two days of training at the ground before the competition.  Daisy is in the Mini Section and Leia in the Juniors.

Well done and Good Luck.

Mounted Games

The Area 5 Mounted Games qualifier was held back in May in Cheshire.  It was hosted by East Cheshire Branch  and thanks to Geoff Bell, Brian lloyd and his team.    The weather was kind and the venue perfect but  entries were very disappointing as it costs the same to put on a  competition for 6 as it does for 16 !

The winning Junior team was Cheshire Hunt South and 2nd team – after a very exciting deciding race –  was Sir WWWynn Branch.

The winning Senior team was Sir WWWynn Branch and 2nd was Flint and Denbigh Branch.  The winners will go forward to the Zone competition and, depending on numbers, the 2nd placed team may go too.

In the Pairs competition – Flint and denbigh won and East Cheshire came 2nd.

Well done all and Good Luck in the Zones.
