An unmounted rally is for horse and pony care instruction. As the rally title suggests, these are rallies held unmounted, i.e. without your horse/pony being there!!
Any member working up towards any badge and test up to the C+ level is welcome to attend unmounted rallies.
Unmounted rallies are held monthly from September to April, usually on the last Friday of every month. They run for one & a half hours on a Friday evening.
Incorporated into the rallies is training for the Pony Club tests (from E to C+), as well as for both the mini and the achievement badges. Members are split into small groups according to age/ability/tests or badges achieved. Instructors will provide information, tasks, worksheets, activities, practical sessions etc towards specific badges each time, with members taking home the associated badge once the instructor is satisfied that they meet the required standards.
Each session is fun, informative and friendly! Many of our older members, from B test standard and above, teach at these rallies. The younger members love this interaction with the older ones, and it’s a great way for everyone to get to know each other.
As with all of our rallies, members are required to dress smartly, Pony Club sweatshirts, polo shirts etc. Folders are given out to each member when they first attend an unmounted rally for them to put all of their notes, worksheets etc in. It is a very good idea to bring their Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship with them to these rallies.
