Dengie dressage Area rounds, 13th March 2016

On March 13th a group of Beaufort girls travelled to Moors farm, Gloucestershire to compete in the Area rounds of the Dengie Dressage competition. They had qualified for this round at the preliminary competitions in area 9. In the novice round we had 6 Beaufort girls competing with poppy riding 3! Poppy Richardson riding Essenar Maltazer rode a fantastic test with 71.8% to come 2nd and qualify. Following closely was Alex Harvey riding Frank with 0.2% off Poppys score coming 3rd and also qualifying. Emma Balfry achieved 69.2%, Poppy on Ava’s Star 69% and Isla Green 69.6%. Milly Harvey and Sasha Green also produced some lovely tests to get 67 and 66% respectively.

In the intermediate section, Sasha and Poppy had some good scores and coped very well with the harder test whilst Alex rode a stunning test to come 2nd with 70.34% again qualifying for the championships.

In the open test I had a slightly spooky and tense ride due to what Leo thought was a terrifying arena which resulted in some lower marks. However he produced some lovely bits on the side where there weren’t scary things and we came 2nd and just missed out qualifying due to withdrawls dropping the number of places going to the champs.

Best of luck to Alex and Poppy and the Championships on the 3rd of April!
