The Elms Tetrathlon, June 2016

The Elms Tetrathlon

Sunday 5th June 2016

WHAT A DAY!

An early start to get the ‘Frogs’ to the Beanbags by 9am, Quickly followed by a rescue of the Pearce family off of the M50. Ponies and all!!

#WE LOVE LANDROVERS!

The frogs did well with the beanbags. Harry Gibb, first time out with 860. Most of the Beaufort rode clear rounds in the arena course.

It was getting quite hot for their run and they all did so well. Isobel Coombs managed to keep going despite a twisted ankle.

Archie Lucas once again impressed us all and won the running overall, which also nailed him 5th place individually.

The Tadpoles were quick to follow in what is a full on day with 4 disciplines to get through. Some good shooting all round, most notably with Xavier 760 and Jemima 740.

After a 2 minute dip to cool off with Harry Barker taking top honours with his swim for the boys and good consistent swims from the girls, they were soon on their ponies, with a ‘stroll in the park’ round by Rufus.

#WHO PARKED THAT MINI THERE!!

A lovely steady round by Harry Smith who said it was ‘TOO SMALL’. Xavier should receive a medal for most determined riding with his ‘sticky’ steed. Good clear rounds from Amelie, Hannah, Jemima and Skye keeping the girls in good positions.

Xavier got best Beaufort run as did Jemima. Xavier claimed 6th individual. Harry B did one better and came 5th with a good team 2nd.

In the girls Jemima came 2nd, Rosie 4th and Amelie 6th and all the Beaufort girls took home a team rosette.

The Mini boys started a bit later with George Hall taking best shoot.

#YEH NO WILL!

Swims went to plan and left Joseph and George on identical points chasing Finlay Davison for top spot.

Joseph rode clear which put him ahead although Joseph nearly gave it back to him.

#WHICH WAY DOES THE RUNNING GO?!

Joseph took home 2nd, George 3rd.

Mini Girls also saw Belle, Megan and Anna form a great team which performed well in all phases and a clean sheet in the x-country. No individual honours, but a good performance all round earned them a 2nd team place in a tough competition.

I was the only Beaufort Junior so felt the pressure was off. I nailed the shoot with a P.B. of 820.

Then followed by best boys swim and best boys run.

#I NOW KNOW HOW TOM FEELS!

Collecting the medals is great fun and my most enjoyable experience with the official commenting ‘you’ve been busy!’

To conclude, a fab day in awesome weather, with great friends. A thoroughly good time.

#NO TIME FOR PIMMS
