Tack Check Guide for Parents Before Training<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pony\/Horse<\/strong><\/span>
\nSaddle \u2013 check stirrup leather stitching and correctly fitted.<\/span>
\nGirth straps and girths \u2013 check for strap wear and worn stitching.<\/span>
\nTighten the girth before your child mounts and check again before the training starts.<\/span>
\nNumnah \u2013 should be plain and of a dark colour without names on it. Branch logos are fine.<\/span>
\nStirrup size \u2013 too big is as bad as too small. You should be able to fit your finger between your child\u2019s boot<\/span>
\nand the edge of the stirrup. Always check when you buy new boots for your child.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bridle<\/strong><\/span>
\nBit \u2013 check the height of the bit in the pony\u2019s mouth. If you are unsure ask your Coach to check.<\/span>
\nCheck the bridle has been put back together correctly after cleaning. Check all the buckles are done up and<\/span>
\nif anything is twisted.<\/span>
\nNoseband \u2013 check tightness and height.<\/span>
\nReins \u2013 check stitching and rubber for wear.<\/span>
\nMartingale \u2013 must have properly adjusted stops. Neck straps must be worn if the pony does not wear a martingale.<\/span>
\nGrass reins \u2013 must be fitted as per the\u00a0PC rules<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Boots<\/strong><\/span>
\nCheck correctly fitted.<\/span>
\nIf you are unsure about anything here, please ask your rally organiser or Coach<\/span><\/p>\n

Rider<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Hat to current standards and tagged with pink tag<\/span><\/strong> (see\u00a0HERE<\/a> for details). Make sure the chin <\/span>strap is not loose.<\/span>
\nBody protector to current standards (if worn, see\u00a0HERE<\/a>\u00a0for details).<\/span>
\nHairnets should be worn and hair securely tied up in a tight bun at the nape of the neck.<\/span>
\nNo jewellery \u2013 new piercings must be taped over if they cannot be removed.<\/span>
