RALLIES<\/h5>\n

Green BHPC polo shirt with BHPC Sweatshirt or BHPC Jacket:\u00a0with Pony Club Badge worn on the left lapel with any test felt achieved behind it.<\/p>\n

Beige or Cream Jodhpurs: no other colours.<\/p>\n

Footwear: Black or brown standard riding or jodhpur boots with a fairly smooth, thin sole and a well-defined cut heel may be worn. In the interests of safety Wellington Boots, Muckers, Trainers or other footwear should NOT be worn. Stirrups must be the correct size for the rider\u2019s boot with 7mm (\u00bc\u201d) clearance on either side of the boot.<\/p>\n

Half Chaps:\u00a0When worn must be the same colour as the footwear and must NOT have tassels or fringes.<\/p>\n

Gloves:\u00a0It is recommended that gloves should be worn, preferably brown, blue or black. They are compulsory when riding dressage tests.<\/p>\n

Riding Hats\u00a0with Black or Navy Blue covers. These must be worn with chinstraps correctly fitted and fastened at all times when mounted.\u00a0All hats must be tagged by a PC Official.<\/p>\n

ANY OTHER HAT WORN IS NOT COVERED BY THE PONY CLUB INSURANCE SCHEME.<\/p>\n

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT HATS SHOULD BE RENEWED AFTER ANY FALL CAUSING SEVERE IMPACT AND SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY 3-5 YEARS DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF USE.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n

CROSS COUNTRY RALLIES<\/u><\/h6>\n

Dress as for Mounted Rallies but Body Protectors BETA 2018 standard is compulsory. BHPC long sleeved shirts and green\/yellow hat silks can be worn but not essential.<\/p>\n

When jumping Cross Country courses over 80cm a Jockey Skull Cap is compulsory (no fixed peaks)<\/p>\n

DISMOUNTED RALLIES<\/u><\/h6>\n

Pony Club Sweatshirt and\/or polo shirt may be worn with jodhpurs or smart jeans.<\/p>\n

Hats and gloves need not be worn but should be taken.<\/p>\n

TESTS<\/u><\/h6>\n

Tests E to D+ is the same as for mounted rallies, but gloves must be worn.<\/p>\n

For C Test & above: white shirt & Pony Club tie, Tweed Jacket, beige jodhpurs, black boots.<\/p>\n

Members who have attained their 18th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday may wear the Pony Club dark blue tie. The Pony Club Tie must be worn when representing your Pony Club in a team or as an individual.<\/p>\n

Girls over 13 can wear the Pony Club stock.<\/p>\n

Ponies\/Horses should be plaited.<\/p>\n

HUNTING<\/u>\u00a0As for Mounted Rallies.<\/h6>\n
GENERAL<\/u><\/h6>\n

Jewellery-<\/u>\u00a0must NOT be worn in the interests of safety during mounted activities, other than a\u00a0wristwatch, wedding ring and a horizontal stock pin. It is recommended that stock pins are\u00a0removed for Cross Country. Members who are contemplating piercing their ears or any other part of their body should be aware that they will not be allowed to compete until such time as the \u201csleepers\u201d can safely be removed. The reason for this is that sleepers have in the past caused injuries following falls. There are vulnerable blood vessels behind the ear and if the facial nerve is pierced partial paralysis of the face can occur.<\/p>\n

Hair\u00a0<\/u>\u2013 in the interest of safety long hair should be secured appropriately with dark coloured ties or PC scrunchies. Hair nets must be worn with long hair.<\/p>\n

Body Protectors:<\/u>\u00a0The Pony Club does not make the use of body protectors compulsory, except for all cross country riding and Pony Racing whether it be training or competing. The responsibility for choosing body protectors and the decision as to their use must rest with Members and their parents. It is recommended that a rider\u2019s body protector should not be more than 2% of their bodyweight. It is strongly advised that all Body Protectors are fitted by a BETA qualified fitter. Air jackets are permissible, but must be worn over a body protector.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE: From 1 January 2024, body protectors meeting the BETA 2009 standard will no longer be permitted for use in Pony Club events.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n

TACK\u00a0<\/u><\/h6>\n

Tack should be CLEAN, PLAIN and in GOOD CONDITION. Leather Bridles and Saddles and only PC Approved synthetic tack. Where synthetic stirrup leathers are used, it is recommended that they are used in conjunction with safety stirrups.<\/p>\n

Bits and Accessories<\/u> as in the respective Pony Club Rule Books.<\/p>\n

Numnahs<\/u> should be a plain colour. Rallies: green, white, brown or black. Competitions: white<\/p>\n
