There are a growing number of sports in Pony Club, the most popular within our branch are Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage and Triathlon.<\/p>\n

Competitions start with lead rein show jumping at 30cm, mini-eventing, walk and trot dressage tests, beanie triathlons and go through the levels up to PC110 and Open competitions. Inter-branch competitions are great fun, and a brilliant way to learn about being a good team player. \u00a0These competitions are held on a regular basis throughout the year and are a great way to gain competition experience.<\/p>\n

In June and July, Area competitions are held which include qualifiers for the Regional Finals in August.\u00a0 These are for individuals and teams in Dressage (Preliminary & Grassroots), Show Jumping (70cm & 80cm) and Eventing (PC70 & PC80). These are a perfect stepping stone for anyone looking to compete at The Pony Club Championships in the future! Area 6 are part of the Eastern Region with the Regional Championships held at Aston Le Wolds.<\/p>\n

The Pony Club Championships are the pinnacle of the Pony Club competitions, with over 2000 members taking part over a number of days.\u00a0 Members who have qualified at the Area Competitions from PC90\/Novice and above, compete at the Championships at Offchurch, Bury.<\/p>\n

In addition, Area Qualifiers take place in December and January for the Spring Festival Finals in dressage, show jumping and arena eventing.<\/p>\n

Dressage<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Dressage is showing the judge that you and your horse\/pony are a partnership that can follow a test, carrying out the movements in clear and smooth way.<\/p>\n

Inter-branch competitions for individuals and teams are available throughout the year from lead rein walk & trot tests to Open dressage.\u00a0 During the winter months Area 6 run a Dressage League where points are collected over a series of competitions from September to April.\u00a0 Combinations in the top 10 are awarded rosettes.<\/p>\n

Flatwork is embedded into all of our training including rallies, general training, pole exercise as well as offering specific dressage and dressage test riding opportunities for all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n

Eventing<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Eventing is split into three phases: dressage, show jumping and cross country.<\/p>\n

There are several inter-branch competitions over the spring\/summer months that cater for all abilities, from 30cm to PC110cm. Area 6 have their own Eventing League at PC70, 80, 90 and 100+ where horse\/rider gain points over the course of the season with rosettes to the top 10 in each height section.<\/p>\n

During the winter months, arena eventing takes place, including an Area qualifier for the Spring Festival Finals.<\/p>\n

To support our members we hold an annual Event Camp at the beginning of April to prepare for the coming season, plus training in dressage, show jumping and cross country techniques throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Show Jumping<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Both team and individual competitions take place throughout the year, indoor in the winter and outdoor over the summer.\u00a0 Courses start from lead rein, 30cm, and go up through the heights to Open, 110cm.\u00a0 There are also opportunities for competing in Pony Club jumping competitions at some of the prestigious events such as Thoresby, Chatsworth, Osberton and Burghley Horse Trials.<\/p>\n

During the winter months, Area 6 run a Show Jumping League from 30cm to PC110cm. \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Training, for all ages and abilities, takes place throughout the year, including pole work, grid work, technical lines and course riding.<\/p>\n

Triathlon\/Tetrathlon<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Triathlons take place over the winter months: shooting, running, swimming. All competitions are age related and for the youngest members, instead of shooting there is bean bag throwing at a target.\u00a0 As well as the competition it is great fun to spend time with Pony Club friends.<\/p>\n

During the summer months, cross country riding is added to form the tetrathlon.<\/p>\n

Area 6 run a Triathlon league, for all ages, from September to April.<\/p>\n

We are now able to provide shoot training, following the successful completion of the qualification of one of our coaches.<\/p>\n
