3 DAY CAMP BY Kind Permission of the Sheppard Family

SATURDAY 27TH, SUNDAY 28TH & MONDAY 29TH JULY

Camp will this year return to Trefeinon Farm with the kind permission of the Sheppard Family and promises to be an action-packed few days with friends and ponies! Camp gives children the opportunity to have more intensive ridden & practical training through fun individual and team activities.   This camp is non-residential and children will go home every evening but ponies can stay in the field if required at a small cost. On the last day off camp there will be competitions, a BBQ and awards presentation, open to family & friends.

Help to Clear Up

Dress

We are relaxed when it comes to what you can wear, we don’t expect you to have brand new clothing/equipment but we do expect you to look neat and tidy with clean ponies and tack.

Your normal riding attire is suitable for the first two days, Monday will be Competition Day, members will be expected to wear shirt, tie, show jacket and cream jodhpurs etc.

Pony club attire to be worn when available. Clothing available to buy from Wainwrights pony club shop. There is a minimum 15 day turn around for these. Pony club branded clothing is NOT essential. We are an inclusive club to all! Please be mindful that ‘hoodies’ are not to be worn when mounted in Pony Club activities.

Equipment

Suggested list:

  • Saddle, bridle, head collar, boots (if worn). Any tack spares you might need.
  • If bringing a whip, please ensure it’s the padded style.
  • Sweat rug, clean spare saddle pads
  • Water buckets
  • Grooming kit
  • Tack cleaning kit
  • Haynets and Hay
  • Wet weather gear/sun tan lotion, sun hat, insect repellent.
  • Camping chair (optional)
  • Pen & paper for theory sessions.
  • Jodhpurs, riding boots & riding gloves
  • Hat & body protector (Hats should be tagged with a Pink Tag, see Pony Club rules for hats and body protectors)
  • Change of footwear.
  • Change of clothing/ wet weather gear.

Lunch

Please ensure to bring enough fluids to keep you hydrated throughout the day. Tuck shop will be open-Sweets, crisps, drinks, bacon butties, cakes, teas & coffee’s etc at a small charge. Lunch is NOT provided.

Parking

Please be mindful when parking. Allow adequate space around your vehicle for when ponies are tethered to the trailer. All muck is to be picked up before leaving at the end of each day.

Volunteers

If you are able to be around or helpful during the 3 days please let us know. You can DM the BTHPCB page with your availability. We are always very grateful for anyone able to help set up prior to the Camp. Help clearing away is also highly appreciated, making sure ALL equipment is put back away, arena areas are taken down and rubbish bags are removed from the field shelter etc.

Stabling or Turnout

Stabling or turn out is available on a first come first serve basis. Hind shoes must be removed if turning out. Please contact Antonia Sheppard for costing & availability.

£130 Booked after 05th July 2024

£150 PC Member-non Brecon & Tal-Y-Bont Hunt Branch member

No refunds at any time. In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded in full minus any booking fees. After the closing date please contact the event Organiser rachiep@live.co.uk to make any changes.
