Area 6 Team and Individual Show Jumping 2019

A team of 4 entered the Regionals (80cm)  this consisted of Laura, Jess, Sophie and Hugo,  a technical course with some great experiences along the day.  Sadly no placing this time, however all of the children had a great day and enjoyed themselves.

A team of 4 entered the Novice (90cm) this consisted of Ted, Tom, Robyn and Alessia, again a technical and VERY big 1 mtr jump off.  The team finished in 5th place, just out of the placings for the qualifiers for the champs.  Robyn was placed as an individual 2nd out of 95 competitors and is looking forward to representing the club at the champs in August!

Cottesmore Triathlon 27 January 2019

Three members of the Brocklesby Hunt Pony Club attended the Cottesmore Triathlon at Catmose Sports Centre on the 27th January.

Zara (5) entering her first Triathlon in the Bean Bag category. This was a huge class of 27 children and Zara did amazingly well! She had a mid range bean bag score and had a good swim. She shone in the run, getting a good score considering she was against older children. She ended in 12th place which is incredible for a 5 year old in her first Triathlon. She was also in a mixed team that came 3rd.

Brother, Harry (8) competing in a Mini mini boys group of 9, had a good shoot, taking joint 4th and then put up a good performance in the pool and in the run taking 7th place overall. He was also on a mixed team who took 2nd place. Really well-done Harry!

Lyla, (11) competing in a huge class of 24 Minimus girls had a really good shoot, and a swim that kept her in the high placings. Sadly, we don’t know what happened in the run but think that Lyla’s score may have been mixed up with another child and she was placed well down the run order, despite this being her forte. She ended in 4th place, and in the 4th placed team, which in itself was fantastic. Hopefully she will put this one behind her and look forward to proving herself in the next Tri.

Well done to all 3 children.

Belvoir & South Notts Fun Triathlon 3 Dec 2017

Lyla and Daisy had a good time at the South Notts and Belvoir Fun Triathlon on Sunday. With Lyla competing in only her 3rd Triathlon, she’s really got into the swing of things. Her shooting is coming along nicely with a 3rd in the shoot out of 13, she stormed around the run to take Best run and with 4th Best swim she took a fabulous 2nd place overall and was in the mixed winning Team

Daisy, the youngest competitor in a strong Junior girls group, came 4th in the shoot, improved upon her run performances again, and took 2nd place in the swim. Really pleasing result with so much more to come. She was just out of the placings this time but was in the Team who took 4th place.

A really nice event for the last of the season. If anyone is interested in Triathlon or Tetrathlons, I will be arranging some more Target practice after Christmas and hopefully we can put a good entry into the Quorn Tri on the 6th January.

Brocklesby Triathlon 19th November 2017, Yarborough Leisure Centre

12 Members of our Pony Club represented us at our Annual Triathlon held at Yarborough Leisure Centre in Lincoln.

In Junior Girls, Daisy, Laura and Coby entered as a Team. Daisy and Laura had the best swims in the Junior girls and with all three girls putting in good runs and shoots, they did themselves proud and took 4th placed Team with Laura clinching 6th placed girl.

In Minimus boys Hugo, Milo and Charlie J, made up a boys Team. Milo and Charlie in their first year of shooting put in respectable shoot scores. Charlie swam well and took 3rd best swim and then got 2nd best run. In the 9 and unders Charlie took first place and Milo 7th, Hugo took 4th in the 11 and under class.

With 21 entries in Minimus girls, getting a place was always going to be difficult. Lyla, in her second ever event put in a much improved shoot and swim score, and Jessica had a good swim. Lyla excelled in the run and took Best run overall! Lyla took 4th place in the 9 and under and Jess was 12th in the 11 and unders.

Competing for the first time were Felix and Chloe in a large Bean Bag class of 18 children.

Felix and Chloe were some of the youngest entered and despite not taking top honours, they had a fabulous day and were part of the mixed 4th placed Team. It was great to see some new faces competing for us and hopefully they will go from strength to strength.

Well done everybody, you were all fabulous and did so well.

Area Dressage Grass roots  competition 2016

The aptly named Brocklesby Blades (thanks Caroline!) sliced through

the 21 opposing Pony Club teams to win the inaugural Pony Club Area 6

Grassroots Dressage Qualifier at the beautiful location of Thoresby

Hall, nr Worksop on Sunday 3rd July. The team consisting of Jessica

Dyson, Thomas Dyson, Alessia Leronimo and Coby Kloosterboer secured

the win by a single point to deny Scunthorpe in a closely fought

event. The team has now excitingly qualified for the Regional Championship Final at Eland Lodge on 27/28th August.

Thomas rode a fluent and polished test to clinch an excellent win in

his section. Jessica rode very maturely and confidently to take 4th in

her section and Coby gained 7th in her section, despite feeling a little ropey.

Alessia is still in the process of convincing Paddy that dressage is

fun, so she should be proud of the calm way she rode and the positive

experience it has been for him today!

A great team experience enjoyed by all, now for some more practising

and then roll on the Championships… whoop whoop!

Spring Hunter trial results- SWN PC

There have been some excellent results for Brocklesby members at recent

Hunter Trials, including the Southwold North Pony Club Hunter Trial, April

24th on the lovely old parkland at South Elkington.

In the first class, the 60cm pairs, Ralph and Henry took top honours with

Nicholas and his mum 6th. Ted kindly partnered Willem for only his second

cross country ride completing the course in good form. A great team effort

from George and Hugo meant they secured their confidence to then tackle the

60cm Individual, with Hugo, Henry and Izzy all going clear and Izzy being

placed 7th.

Lots of personal firsts including – first ever hunter trial for George and

Hugo and first time out on new ponies too for Hugo and Henry! All putting in

great performances, looking very smart and showing lots of promise for the

summer!

In the 75cm classes, Coby won the Individual, with Ted 4th and Laura 6th.

Ted and his Dad were 6th in the Pairs, Coby and school friend Jenny 5th and

somewhat unexpectedly two mothers came in 1st!

Then the big jumps with excellent results for Amy, 3rd in the Intermediate

and for Theodore 3rd in the Open. The course had some technical questions

and the going was wet in some areas, requiring careful, accurate riding.

All in all a super day with great weather, generous prizes and very kind

landowners in the Dobsons, allowing the event to run after a lot of rain.

Thanks to Di Marshall for many of the pictures!
