Burghley Triumph at Area 6 Mini Champs
After a very wet and soggy start, both the sun and our Burghley riders shone at the Mini Champs at the weekend. A huge well done to Philly, Rosalind, Joselyn, Georgiana, Lauren, Florrie, Alice, Isla-Rose and Olivia for great riding skills and team spirit in equal measure.
The Mini Championships offers our younger riders the opportunity to take part in dressage, show jumping and eventing in a very competitive, but friendly, environment against their counterparts from clubs across Area 6. Relatively new in the grand scheme of things, it is a competition that is growing in popularity, and rightly so. The below results and photos demonstrate just how well our riders did across the day, but I hope will also serve as some inspiration to many more members when this competition comes around next autumn.
Burghley representation at the prize giving ceremonies was strong and as follows.
Dressage
Philly: 7th in the lead-rein mini section
Rosalind: a fabulous 4th in her intro section
Both riders scored north of 70% in competitive sections.
Show Jumping
Philly: 6th LR 30
Joselyn: a super duper win in the Assisted 30
Georgiana and Rosalind: 3rd and 10th respectively in the 40 class.
Florrie: another rider climbing to the top step of the podium after a very rhythmical and speedy clear in the 50.
Isla-Rose and Georgiana were also 7th and 11th respectively in the same class with brilliant clear rounds.
Olivia: and yet another super speedy clear round for a win in the 60!
Alice coming in 9th in the 60 section with an unlucky 4 faults.
Eventing
An exciting but challenging cross country course played its role well in the eventing line ups, but Team Burghley had fun and success once again.
Philly, rounding off a super day with a 5th in the 30 section, competing on her dressage score of 28.3.
Florrie bringing home a 4th place in the 50 with a rare double clear.
Alice and Olivia finishing 7th and 8th in the 60 class to round off yet another brilliant Burghley day out.
Well done to all our riders! The Burghley future is very bright!
