The Burton Hunt Branch of the Pony Club was established in 1947. The Branch covers the area north of Lincoln, stretching up to Grayingham and Market Rasen in the north, nearly up to the River Trent in the west and almost reaching the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds to the east.

Throughout the year the branch holds a programme of both mounted and dismounted rallies where qualified instructors train members from lead rein to advanced in riding and horse and pony care, with the opportunity to progress through Pony Club tests.

Regular training sessions are held for dressage, show jumping, mounted games, polocrosse, tetrathlon shooting and swimming. Other mounted activities include eventing and Trec. The branch enters teams in qualifying competitions for the Pony Club Championships in most disciplines.

The highlight of the year for many members is the annual camp during the summer holidays. Each year the branch organises competitions which are open to members and non members, these include the Spring and Autumn Hunter Trials, summer One day Event, indoor Cross Country and inter branch mounted games friendlies.
