Orders are placed every three times a year: September, December, March<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Camp clothing is ordered in the lead to camp so any additional items required can be added then.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Rallies: <\/strong>Horses and ponies should only wear black, brown, navy or white numnahs and girths. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

BCF Navy blue\/white saddle cloths with the Pony Club logo are also allowed, PC members should wear the BCF colours: navy baselayer \/ training top, light blue Pony Club sweat shirt or light blue polo shirt. Navy gilet\/Navy warm jacket. Brown, black, navy or beige jodhpurs\/ breeches. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Hooded sweatshirts or coats MUST NOT be worn when riding at Pony Club.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Black or Brown jodhpur boots, plain black or brown half chaps maybe worn with jodhpur boots of the same colour. Tassels and fringes are not allowed. Boots and stirrups with interlocking treads are not permitted. New clothing is not expected, but what is worn must be clean, neat and tidy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Footwear:<\/strong> Black or brown leather jodhpur boots or rubber or leather riding boots should be worn. Half chaps may be worn with jodhpur boots, provided they are the same colour as the boots and not fringed or decorated in any way. Wellies, trainers or boots with heavy treads are not suitable \u2013 this is because the foot can easily be trapped in the event of a fall.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT STIRRUPS ARE CHECKED REGULARLY, PARTICULARLY IF MEMBERS HAVE RECENTLY HAD NEW BOOTS. THERE SHOULD BE \u00bd\u201d CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE FOOT AND STIRRUP (i.e. \u00bc\u201d EITHER SIDE). STIRRUPS WHICH ARE TOO BIG ARE EQUALLY AS DANGEROUS AS THOSE WHICH ARE TOO SMALL.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Hats: <\/strong>Riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted. Only Pony Club approved hats or skull caps may be worn. Please check your current hat. It must have a correctly fitted harness and be fastened at all times. We strongly recommend purchasing a skull cap when buying a new hat, so that it can be worn for all disciplines, including eventing, tetrathlon and all cross-country training. Each hat which complies with the above requirements should be tagged with either a Pony Club current tag. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

The Pony Club Hat Rule 2024: hat-rule<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

All members need to have their hats checked for safety by a committee member, to see that they comply with the current standard and then be given a \u201chat tag\u201d to be attached to the chin strap.  Wearing the hat tag will mean that members will not need to have that hat checked again at any Pony Club event in the appropriate year, but don\u2019t forget to get any new hat checked the first time it is worn to a Pony Club event or rally.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Body Protector: <\/strong>Body Protectors used for Cross Country and Pony Racing must meet BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

COMPETITION: <\/strong>Tweed hacking jackets and white or plain-coloured shirts with the Pony Club tie, neatly tied.  Younger members are advised to wear a tie, not a stock. Recognising the wide range of members\/there\u2019s also a dark blue tie, which maybe worn by members who have attained their 18th birthday. Alternatively, a plain white or cream stock maybe worn with black or navy jacket, or a coloured stock maybe worn with a tweed hacking jacket. It is permitted to wear a Pony Club stock with any coloured jacket. Sparkling Pony Club badge on lapel. When cold plenty of layers underneath are the warmest.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Dressage competitions: <\/strong>Black or blue hat cover, boots, jackets, jodhpurs, tie and badge. Black, navy or tweed jacket. Gloves to be worn. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Show Jumping competitions: <\/strong>Either a tweed jacket with beige jodhpurs, or a black show jacket with white jodhpurs. Black or dark blue hat, brown or black boots, neat collar with Pony Club tie and badge when a jacket is worn. Older members may wear stock as above.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Cross country: <\/strong>BCFH base layer or training top. It is compulsory to wear a skull cap which is a hat without a fixed peak and which has a removable black or navy silk. Body protectors are compulsory. Gloves be worn. Neck strap for pony.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Hair: <\/strong>should always be tidy with no stray strands hanging down over the eyes. Hair should be worn in a HAIR NET<\/strong>. Long hair must be tied back.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Jewellery: <\/strong>No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons, other than a wristwatch, a wedding ring, a stock pin worn horizontally or a tie clip. No earrings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Humane Girths : Humane girths are not permitted in any discipline, whether during training or competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

Electronic Devices: <\/strong>Electronic devices (i.e. headphones, mobile phones, etc. enabling another person to communicate with the rider) are not allowed whilst the rider is competing. No recording device is permitted (e.g. hat \/ bridle cameras, etc.)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\r\n\r\n
