Spring Championships 2025 Results
Four of our members made the trip up to Addington Equestrian Centre to compete in the Spring Championships. With over 900 horses and riders there over the weekend it was definitely a case of getting experience and having some fun in the process. The sun was shining despite the frozen ground delaying the start of competing on both days and on Saturday it was Millie’s turn to compete in both the Arena Eventing 80cm and the Show jumping 80cm. Both her and her horse Dolly flew around the arena eventing to achieve a clear round in both the show jumping and XC fences. The optimum time is critical and Millie must have been very close as she sat in first position for a long time but was just pushed to second place by the end of all the rounds. Such an amazing result for Millie who was attending the Spring Champs for the first time and to top it off she achieved two clears in the 80cm show jumping.
On the Sunday it was the turn of Alisha and Mari in the Grassroots dressage. Dressage is a new discipline for both girls, with Alisha only having started last summer and Mari only doing her second ever test at the championships. Alisha produced a lovely test achieving 7th place in her section and Mari rode really well especially when Jack her horse decided he’d prefer to do the jumping and jumped over a board. She continued on as if nothing had happened to finish her test strongly. Finally as the sun was setting on Sunday Freya rode in the 70com Arena Eventing on Puddle. She a fantastic round going clear in both sections but unfortunately accruing a few time faults for being slightly over the optimum time. A lovely weekend was had and the experiences gained through competing in such a large scale event all valuable for their training moving forward. Looking forward to the Summer competitions and hopefully an opportunity to attend the regional championships at Rectory Farm.
