Mounted Games Weekend hosted by East Cheshire 13-14th April 2024- Event Report by Claire West

What a fantastic weekend for CHS mounted games teams!!

Starting off with the Junior A team comprising of Heyward, Amber D, Amber K, Jonty and Evie. They led from the start! They won all 3 sessions although the Berwyn on Dee were close on our heels particularly in the 3rd session, but our guys kept their cool and their focus to bring home the well deserved win. Top job team!

The Junior B team had a fab weekend finishing a very commendable 4th place. This team comprised of Sophie, Maggie, Jocelyn and a first time junior Arthur. This little team worked their socks off all weekend and are visibly improving each week – well done guys!

Our Junior Novice team with Phoebe, Maizie, Wilfred, Isla and Flora had a big weekend and finished up winners of the second session and overall weekend winners, what little stars they have been! Whizzy Maizie, Wilfred cantering, Phoebe nailing the getting off while still moving! Flora’s first go and not one mistake and Isla going off on her own!! Huge goals met for these troops.

And last but not least – a big step up for our senior rider Alicia, riding in a team made up of two Berwyn on Dee riders and a Flint and Denbigh rider. They smashed it! Alicia more than holding her own in her first proper senior competition rather than senior novice, and they finished 2nd overall being beaten by a very strong Scottish team.
So many positives to take away for every single rider – and much confidence built and experience gained.
