Instructors

Heidi Reed  – BHSI, SC, SE, UKCC Level 3

Heidi has a wealth of experience, both riding and coaching.  Before settling in Surrey she spent several years teaching in riding schools in England and then camps in America. She also spent several years working to produce young horses for sale with dealers and trainers.

She has competed up to 2* level in Eventing, including winning the Open Novice class at Dauntsey. She has also produced her horses in pure dressage up to advanced level.  Heidi is committed to the Pony Club at every level and is now enjoying introducing her own young family to the fun that it can offer.

Andy Hurley – NSRA Range Conducting Officer and Instructor, ISSF level D coach and Pony Club registered shooting instructor.

Andy teaches air pistol for our tetrathlon and triathlon competitors. He is ex RAF where he shot ‘proper’ pistols (and still attempts to when travelling in the US). Currently he shoots 10m air pistol, shotguns and full bore rifle in which he competes at Bisley. He can also be found running the range at Pony Club competitions and has been involved in area training days and the Pony Club National Tetrathlon Easter Camp at Bishop Burton.

Andy thoroughly enjoys coaching at all levels be it an 8 year olds first shoot, or the small ‘tweaks’ needed for an experienced shooter.

Andrea Hurley – NSRA RCO and Club Instructor

Andrea took up shooting as a result of Andy starting to teach at Pony Club, she has shot in domestic and international competitions at a high level for several years.  Andrea was Surrey ladies’ Pistol Champion in 2018 and got a bronze medal in the British Open Airgun Competition in 2019.

More recently she has started to teach and as well as Pony Club she has been invited to be part of the coaching team for the South East Regional Pistol Squad, part of the talent pathway for British Shooting.

Both Andrea and Andy are really keen to promote pistol shooting for young people and have both been involved with the British Shooting Schools’ Pistol Championships for the last few years.
