Welcome to the Cobham & Wimbledon Branch of the Pony Club

The Cobham branch was established in 1951 and Wimbledon in 1944. We amalgamated to form our new branch in September 2019 and are part of Pony Club Area 11. Our membership is usually between 90 – 115. We are an active friendly branch covering a wide area from Wimbledon down through Claygate/Chessington to Cobham/Effingham/the Horsleys/Bookham/Dorking, and across to Teddington/Hampton/Richmond.

We encourage a high standard of horse/pony care and riding – while still having fun!
Learning new skills and gaining confidence are important and our members participate in training for dressage, eventing, show jumping, tetrathlon, polo and mounted games, we use highly qualified professional coaches for all our activities. We also take part in the annual Pony Club Quiz and Horse and Pony Care competitions. Mounted and unmounted rallies are organised both at weekends and during the holidays at various venues around the area.

A week long residential Camp is organised for the over 10’s during the Summer holidays, and a 4 day non residential Mini Camp for the under 12’s or less experienced members. This is the highlight of the year and very popular.

Achievement badges and Pony Club Tests are taken as members progress, and we provide lots of training and encouragement. We also offer the chance to compete for the branch both as individuals and teams – from our little mini minis right up to open levels in show jumping, dressage, eventing and tetrathlon.
