Competing for the Cobham & Wimbledon Branch
We very much encourage our members to take part in Pony Club competitions and we organise training rallies to support and prepare our members. For general Pony Club competitions you can make your own individual entries – do let us know how you get on. For competitions with teams, the team manager will organise the teams and make the entries. Please do not enter your own teams. To be part of a team, representing the branch, we do need to see you and your pony at rallies competing at the required level.
For Area Competitions all entries for both individuals and teams are made by the team managers and those at the appropriate levels can put themselves forward for consideration.

AREA COMPETITIONS
As far as Pony Club competitions are concerned, the country is divided into 19 different ‘Areas’. Cobham & Wimbledon is one of 20 Pony Clubs which make up Area 11. Area Competitions take place each summer, usually in June and July, and Cobham & Wimbledon will hope to put forward teams and/or individuals in each of the three disciplines: dressage, show jumping and eventing. These are the most prestigious of the Pony Club competitions as a first or second placing at these events, either as a team or individual, means that you qualify for the National Pony Club Championships representing Area 11. The Championships take place at the middle/end of August at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. Different dressage tests apply at Championship level.
Within the Area competition, there are three levels:
- Novice/PC 90
- Intermediate/PC 100
- Open
To give you an idea of the standard required at each level, the dressage tests/fence heights are as follows:
