Reasonable Adjustment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supporting Every Rider \u2013 Information for Parents & Members (Reasonable Adjustments)<\/p>\n

At Cotswold Vale Farmers Pony Club, we want every child to feel happy, supported and able to enjoy everything Pony Club has to offer.<\/p>\n

We understand that some children may need a little extra support to take part fully.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1What is a Reasonable Adjustment?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A reasonable adjustment is a small change or bit of extra support to help your child take part on a level playing field.<\/p>\n

This might be for things like:<\/p>\n

* Injury or physical conditions
\n* Learning differences (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia)
\n* Anxiety or confidence
\n* Neurodiversity (e.g. autism)
\n* Medical or sensory needs
\n* Communication or language needs<\/p>\n

It\u2019s about removing barriers \u2014 not lowering standards.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf1fWhat Support Might Look Like<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Every child is different, but support might include:<\/p>\n

* Clear information in advance
\n* Extra time or flexible timings
\n* A caller or additional help at competitions
\n* Smaller groups or quieter environments
\n* Instructions broken down more clearly<\/p>\n

Often it\u2019s the small things that make the biggest difference.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcddHow to Request Support<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve tried to keep this simple and supportive:<\/p>\n

Complete a Personal Profile:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For Under 12’s pony-club-personal-profile under 12<\/a><\/p>\n

For 12 and older pony-club-personal-profile 12 and older<\/a><\/p>\n

Share a few details about your child and what support would help them.<\/p>\n

Send It In Early<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

* For rallies\/training \u2192 send to Chris Dee email: dc.cotswoldvalefarmers@pcuk.org
\n* For competitions \u2192 notify your Team Manager\/Chris Dee
\n* Ideally at least 2 weeks\u2019 notice
\n* For Area Competitions, as early as possible (at least 3-4 weeks if you can)<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc49 The more notice we have, the better we can support your child.<\/p>\n

Help Us Make Sure Nothing Is Missed<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve entered a competition:<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc49 Please also contact the competition organiser (or ask your Team Manager to do so) to let them know a Reasonable Adjustment has been requested.<\/p>\n

This doesn\u2019t need to be detailed \u2014 just a simple heads-up.<\/p>\n

\u2714 This helps make sure:<\/p>\n

* The request is seen in time
\n* The organiser can plan ahead
\n* Everything runs smoothly on the day<\/p>\n

Area Competitions \u2013 A Quick Note<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For Area Competitions, there is a formal Pony Club process:<\/p>\n

* Adjustments must be submitted in advance via the Personal Profile
\n* \u2060When you enter a competition, ensure you complete the \u201cReasonable Adjustments\u201d section.
\n* \u2060Contact the event Organiser directly to make them aware of the request, and notify your Team Manager.
\n* Requests are reviewed by the Pony Club Competition Committee
\n* Approval must be in place before the competition<\/p>\n

We know this can feel a bit formal \u2014 Chris can help guide you through it.<\/p>\n

Short-Term Situations<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If something temporary comes up (injury, illness, nerves), just speak to us.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll always do our best to help where we can.<\/p>\n

Privacy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We understand this is personal information. We will:<\/p>\n

* Keep it confidential
\n* Only share with those who need to know
\n* Use it only to support your child<\/p>\n
