What a day! May Day Open Show 2026<\/h1>\n

We are absolutely thrilled with how this year’s May Day Open Show went \u2014 thank you to every single person who came along and made it such a brilliant day!<\/em><\/p>\n

What a turnout! This year’s show welcomed over 200 entries from 38 horses and riders \u2014 a fantastic show of support that really does reflect just how special this event is to our West Cumbrian riding community. Dating back to the 1980s, May Day has always been a firm fixture in our calendar, and this year was no exception.<\/p>\n

The day was packed with action across our showing classes \u2014 Best Turned Out, Equitation and Novelty \u2014 before riders headed into the showjumping arena to round off the afternoon. Whether you were competing, cheering from the ringside, or just enjoying the atmosphere, we hope you had a wonderful time.<\/p>\n

Thanks also to\u00a0Flizer Little<\/strong>\u00a0and her business\u00a0Berrymoor Sweet Cones<\/strong>\u00a0for the sweetie bags which went down a treat with our first-place winners!<\/p>\n

We were also delighted to have\u00a0Shake Waffle and Roll<\/strong>\u00a0on site keeping everyone fuelled throughout the day \u2014 the food was amazing as always. And a very special thank you to our landowner\u00a0Andrew Kirkbride<\/strong>, whose generosity in allowing us the use of the land makes the whole show possible.<\/p>\n
