{"id":1224,"date":"2024-03-01T01:21:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-01T01:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/eastdown\/?page_id=1224"},"modified":"2026-01-13T12:45:50","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T12:45:50","slug":"tetrathlon","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/eastdown\/tetrathlon\/","title":{"rendered":"Tetrathlon"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\n<section class=\"full-width-text py-5\">\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"col-lg-10 mx-auto\">\r\n                <h2><strong>Welcome to East Down\u2019s Tetrathlon pages\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Do something different!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tetrathlon is a bit different from other Pony Club disciplines.\u00a0 It\u2019s a 4-phase competition comprising Riding, Shooting, Swimming and Running.\u00a0 It will test your equestrian skills as well as your speed, endurance, accuracy and courage!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Shoot<\/strong>\u00a0involves target shooting with air pistols. The\u00a0<strong>Swim<\/strong>\u00a0takes place in a pool and involves distance swimming for around 3 minutes.\u00a0 The\u00a0<strong>Run<\/strong>\u00a0is cross country, usually over a distance of between 1km and 3km.\u00a0 The\u00a0<strong>Ride<\/strong>\u00a0is an exhilarating cross-country course.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s challenging but it\u2019s also friendly, welcoming and fun.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be fitter, faster and stronger than you\u2019ve ever been.\u00a0 You\u2019ll make friends from other Pony Clubs across Area 17 and the UK and you\u2019ll get plenty of chances to compete regionally, nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Classes are based on age on 1 January:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-7yrs and under \u2013 Beanies (beanbag throwing at 3m, swim 2 mins, run 0.5km, ride 40cm)<\/p>\n<p>-9yrs and under \u2013 Tadpoles (shoot at 7m, swim 2mins, run 1km, ride 60cm)<\/p>\n<p>-11yrs and under \u2013 Minimus (shoot at 7m, swim 2mins, run 1km, ride 80cm)<\/p>\n<p>-14yrs and under \u2013 Junior (Shoot at 7m, swim 3mins, run 1.5km, ride 90cm)<\/p>\n<p>-25yr and under girls \u2013 Intermediate or Open (shoot at 10m, swim 3mins, run 1.5km, ride 1m)<\/p>\n<p>-25yr and under boys \u2013 Inter (shoot at 10m, swim 3mins, run 2km, ride 1m)<\/p>\n<p>-25yr and under boys \u2013 Open (shoot at 10m, swim 4mins, run 3km, ride
