All queries regarding team selection should be addressed to Maggie, please.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                                                                <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n\r\n<section class=\"full-width-text py-5\">\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"col-lg-10 mx-auto\">\r\n                <h2><strong>Funding for Championships<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>This year, 2026, we have voted to fund travel and competitions as follows:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>UKPC Championships, Windsor Horse Show, Regional Championships and Spring Festival Finals \u2013 Scotland<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Funding is available for EDPC Members who qualify for Pony Club Championships on the UK mainland.<br \/>\nThe idea behind funding for UK Championships is the recognition that travel by ferry to the UK mainland involves extra expense which can be off-putting to members. The funding is intended to assist all members regardless of background, ability, or financial capacity.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>UK Travel\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 competition entries paid for by EDPC per competitor<\/li>\n<li>2 nights stabling<\/li>\n<li>Trainer paid for by EDPC<\/li>\n<li>\u00a350 travel bursary per competitor (If horses have travelled across the water).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Irish Pony Club Championships (all disciplines)<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Limited funding is also available to members who qualify for the Irish Pony Club Championships or RDS Combined training<\/p>\n<p>The idea behind funding for Irish Championships is the recognition that in qualifying for these prestigious events our members are representing their branch and often incur stabling and fuel-related expenses, albeit at a lower level than those who compete across the water.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ireland Mainland Travel<\/strong><\/em> (Republic of Ireland \u2013\u00a0 RDS or IPC Champs)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 competition entries paid for by EDPC per competitor<\/li>\n<li>2 nights stabling<\/li>\n<li>Trainer paid for by EDPC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All other requests for funding should be directed toward a DC or ADC<\/p>\n<p>Groups traveling together are welcome to fundraise and apply for council funding or other bursaries. Please ensure that ALL members for each trip are included in any fundraising efforts and ensure that any fundraising efforts made in the name of EDPC are approved by a DC or ADC (in order that insurance and PC rules are complied with).<\/p>\n<p>Good luck All<\/p>\n                                                                <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n\r\n<section class=\"full-width-text py-5\">\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"col-lg-10 mx-auto\">\r\n                <h2>PC Regional and JC Championships<\/h2>\n<div class=\"post-text\">\n<p><strong>Congratulations on qualifying for the Championships!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Firstly decide if you\u2019re able to go ASAP, if not please let the committee know so your slot can be passed down.<\/p>\n<p>Entries will be booked by our Treasurer, Helen Pannell, the club will cover the entry fee however stabling must be booked and paid for by the member; you will get a \u00a350 subsidy from EDPC.\u00a0 There is also a Area 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1_s-RtlHZw0xDAxNxNWYFe9Tm9SFuz9pW&amp;usp=drive_copy\">TRAVEL FUND<\/a>\u00a0available for anyone travelling to GB for any PC competition worth \u00a3100.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule &amp; Stables (to be updated closer to the time)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Regional Championships Schedule\u00a0 (Auchlishie) can be found here: REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS<\/p>\n<p>The JCB Championships Schedule (Offchurchbury) can be found here: JCB PC CHAMPS SCHEDULE<\/p>\n<p>Horse-Events Stable Booking for both venues STABLES<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pony Transport Paperwork<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong><em>DEARA statement to Area 17 Rep (Fran) Feb 2024<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><em>For the purposes of return certification to Northern Ireland after competing under pony club rules, DAERA will recognise all NI resident ponies as \u2018registered horses\u2019.\u00a0 Returning NI ponies will be eligible to use EHC 8433 \u2018Movement back to the European Union and Northern Ireland of registered horses for racing, competition and cultural events after temporary import to GB for a period of less than 30 days\u2019.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<p><strong>Northern Ireland Port Documents \u2013 Outbound<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any pony leaving NI shores needs a completed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.daera-ni.gov.uk\/publications\/animal-transport-certificate-importing-animals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Animal Transport Certificate<\/a>\u00a0which\u00a0<strong>YOU<\/strong>\u00a0fill in before departure.\u00a0 This will be requested by the DEARA Checkpoint\/depot when you EXIT and ENTER Northern Ireland (fill out two and take them with you).\u00a0 The Check Point is before you enter the main Stena Port Area and you MUST see them before departure.\u00a0 Allow an extra hour (normally it\u2019s much quicker). The DEARA vet will take the pony\u2019s passport and the Animal Transport Certificate go back to their office for 15 minutes and check things!\u00a0 They should also check the pony\u2019s microchip.<\/p>\n<p>Belfast DAERA address \u2013 21 Duncrue St, Belfast BT3 9AQ \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/i1K2WVAF5Fj8g7xKA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP LOCATION<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Larne DAERA address \u2013\u00a010 Redlands Rd, Larne BT40 1AX \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/Q22DBChNyFF35iVf6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAP LOCATION<\/a><\/p>\n<p>DAERA at their checkpoint\/depot close to the port will also issue you with a\u00a0<strong>Port Pass<\/strong>\u00a0for the ferry \u2013 this confirms when you left NI for the vet check and that you\u2019ve come back within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>If you are booked as freight (as opposed to private) you will also require a\u00a0<strong>GMR reference\u00a0<\/strong>which the person arranging the CHED can also do.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you are a commercial Equine Business you\u00a0<strong>do not need a WIT2<\/strong>\u00a0and the pony is travelling as a PET.<\/p>\n<p>Fran Rowlatt-McCormick our Area 17 Rep informs the ports of all Pony Club members who are travelling to competitions in GB so it is important you let\u00a0<b>MAGGIE\u00a0<\/b>or <strong>ROSEMARY<\/strong> know your <strong>travel dates<\/strong>\u00a0well ahead of time so we can pass accurate EDPC info onto Fran.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHED<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>CHED<\/strong>\u00a0(Common Health Entry Document, this is paperless, info is digital and you will have a number for re-entry to NI) is required to get back into Northern Ireland.\u00a0 This is easiest done by a professional unless you have experience of them, we can give you names if EDPC isn\u2019t organising it for you.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/apha.defra.gov.uk\/documents\/bip\/iin\/vcap.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DAERA Document<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Travelling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ferry Booking<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>and discount codes etc. \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Please request the PDF document from Christine Crozier cmcrozier@icloud.com<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.horseandhound.co.uk\/features\/5-tips-for-travelling-long-distances-with-your-horse-502672#:~:text=Stop%20every%20four%2Dand%2Da,so%20leave%20plenty%20of%20time.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Travelling Equines Long Distance \u2013 Tips<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Equines travel well on the ferry if they can lower their head so consider adapting the trailer or lorry to allow this for this part of the journey only \u2013 especially if it\u2019s the overnight boat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No matter how you go it is a long way between Co.Down and\u00a0<strong>Auchlishie<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Offchurchbury<\/strong>!\u00a0 It is also sensible to allow a day for the pony to acclimatise and decompress post journey.\u00a0 Options are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belfast-Birkenhead (Stena)<\/strong>\u00a0(over-night option, more expensive, longer ferry, shorter drive). If you book freight you will automatically get beds for 2 with the booking.\u00a0 The cost is also refundable compared to some other booking methods; we would definitely recommend flexi fares!\u00a0 Cabins are often unavailable via the normal Stena website but are part of a freight booking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belfast\/Larne-Cairnryan<\/strong>\u00a0(cheaper ferry, longer drive). An option is to do the road journey overnight especially if you have 2 drivers.\u00a0 \u00a0The roads are clearer so travel time is shorter and the temperature is lower.<\/p>\n<p><em>*Travelling via Dublin adds paperwork and cost*<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrival<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PC JCB Championships at Offchurchbury are very busy, do not expect your stable to be available or in 5* condition!\u00a0 The stabling is run on a motel principle and they maximise occupancy.\u00a0 Read all the information ahead of arrival and organise suitable stops and rests.\u00a0 Have your\u00a0<strong>equine paperwork<\/strong>\u00a0to hand (passport, stable booking details etc).\u00a0 Bring a lunge line for easy grazing if you need to wait for access and the pony needs some down time post travel.\u00a0 Look after your pony before yourselves!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.horse-events.co.uk\/horse-events\/pony-club-championship-stabling-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stable Booking<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EDPC will provide a\u00a0<strong>Chef d\u2019Equipe<\/strong>\u00a0for the Championships.\u00a0 The Championships are highly organised and run along affiliated lines so you cannot be late for your class or wearing the wrong tack etc; strict pony club rules will apply.\u00a0 You must be organised and properly turned out.\u00a0 Please get\u00a0<strong>tack<\/strong>\u00a0checked and fixed ASAP and new clothes ordered \/ bought.\u00a0 Also get the\u00a0<strong>farrier<\/strong>\u00a0booked and\u00a0<strong>physio \/ vet<\/strong>\u00a0organised as necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHECK<\/strong>\u00a0your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/fitzwilliam\/files\/2023\/12\/The-Pony-Club-Equine-Influenza-VACCINATION-RULE-2024-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccinations<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pcuk.org\/officials\/rulebooks\/\">Pony Club Rule Books 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>GOOD LUCK!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparing for Departure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before leaving (within 24 working hours, more flexible across a weekend) your pony needs vet checked for re-entry into Northern Ireland.\u00a0 This happens at the Championships and it is usually done by Sarah Chadwick (at Offchurchbury) who will have a list of all the EDPC competitors and animals at the Champs.\u00a0 You will be given her contact and will need to arrange for her to visit your pony and complete the CHED paperwork; she will issue you with a yellow copy which you need to keep safely to present at the DAERA Check Point on your return (the same one you visited when you left NI). The GB port will want your CHED number which they will check against their system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leave enough time<\/strong>\u00a0to get to the boat allowing for traffic issues and a pony stop before boarding.\u00a0 Sat Nav Time x 1.25 + 1 hour before sailing + 1.5 hours for stop\/traffic.\u00a0 e.g Auchlishie to Cairnryan allow about 7:30 hrs, Offchurchbury to Birkenhead allow 5:30-6 hours.\u00a0 Cairnryan it\u2019s about 10 hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ports \u2013 Return<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Birkenhead or Cairnryan the port will ask for the CHED number and possibly passport etc.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your pony has enough hay for the journey and water.\u00a0 Ideally allow them to lower their head if safe to do so.\u00a0 You are able to check them on the overnight boat but you will need to ask for an escort down to the deck at the reception desk.<\/p>\n<p>Belfast \/ Larne \u2013\u00a0<strong>You must check-in on return<\/strong>\u00a0to DAERA Check Point NI with your CHED paperwork that the vet gave you in Scotland\/England.\u00a0 \u00a0This is to confirm the same pony has returned to NI and is good health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                                                                <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-secondary understrap-read-more-link\" href=\"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/eastdown\/area-competition-2024\/\">Read More&#8230;<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> from Area Competition 2026<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":140,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1300","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
